Red Alert 2 - Assistance Required PLEASE!

I have tried both the currently posted 1001 crack, and the one from the Tynthro site, and neither works! I have tried both with the *.mix files copied into the directory, and not. I would *really* appreciate a working 1001 crack, or for someone to tell me (and apparently others) what I'm doing wrong.
