Because both x86 & x64 uses the same filename for the command and DLL files, while I can rename the exe file I can't rename the dll files, which means I can only include one version, I went with the x86 for compatibility reasons (To support 32bit Operating Systems).

Oops...

Just noticed the Converter.exe in the released version of UCC v.4.1.3 was too small, it was missing an important file, fixed & re-uploaded, if you downloaded V4.1.3 please re-download it, the ImgBurn.exe was missing so ISO creation couldn't work.

Well you are coding in batch, which means it's easy to rename anything.

Plus who are using x86 doesn't use pzlib v3, there are no x86 games using deflate compression, so they are happy with pzlib v1 and others.

Theoretically, if I can somehow account for each version of PZLib 3 being in it's own sub-directory I might be able to include both x86 & x64 versions, so far I'm not quite sure how this will work as arc.exe needs them alongside it to work as far as I understand.

Anyway, will take your input into consideration, might replace with x64 version, we'll see.

As for ability to rename anything in batch scripting, true, but I was hoping to add the support without additional batch file editing (just the arc.ini).

Update regarding next version

OK...

So, after some thinking I decided to go with PZLib V3 64bit version in the next version of UCC as suggested & pointed out by 78372.

Also, I've been working greatly on some improvements to UCC, it still needs to be tested but, if I haven't messed anything up, the next version should have the following changes:

UCC V4.1.3.1 Upcoming Changes:
  • Bug Fix: Wrong version of splitter command included, fsplit file updated
  • New Addition: Added support for new compressors (ztool, AFR, PZLib V3)
  • New Function: Added functions to allow using UCC splitter to split the Data archives instead of game files
  • Settings.ini Changes: Added a couple new variables to the File Splitting section to support above mentioned function
  • New Function: UCC Will now automatically generate the Records.ini file when needed.
  • Splitter Improvement: The UCC Splitter now comes with a few more menu options (DVD5, DVD9, BD25)
  • Splitter Improvement: You can now input any of the presets available in the size selection menu into the SplitSize varialbe in Settings.ini (1GB, 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, DVD5, DVD9, BD25) or as usual type the size in MB.
  • New Function: UCC can now be set to automatically move REDIST out of the game folder
  • New Function: UCC can now be set which disc # to move the REDIST to as part of the new REDIST move function
  • Function Improvement: UCC will now copy additional files located in Common\Setup folder that are not REDIST or Setup.exe/Setup.ico to last disc of the conversion instead of the first.

A few important notes on the new UCC archive splitting function:
  1. It is meant to be used only when creating a single archive conversion, just like CLS-Diskspan, if used it will override the OneDataOnly variable in Settings.ini and will only create one (1) data file
  2. It will ignore the Disc variable in Data1.ini file as the file is essentially split into multiple discs
  3. Archive parts will be automatically distributed into correct sub-folders
  4. Split Archive parts will have the extension 001, 002, etc. Unlike the Part01, Part02, etc. of regular game file splitting
  5. Split archive files will require records.ini file to work with CIUv2, the records.ini file will be generated for you by UCC

Again, these changes all require further testing before release, if you want to help with the testing of the upcoming version please PM me, I am still looking for further help testing UCC.

That's it for today.

Well, I've updated my previous post a couple of time today, check the new list of upcoming changes in UCC V4.1.3.1, it's getting better and better.

So far there are over 250 new lines of code added to the UCC script between version 4.1.3 and the upcoming version 4.1.3.1.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

  • Visual Changes: Improved console windows titles & messages design (using = instead of -)
  • Visual Changes: Improved Starting & Ending "Splash" screen.

  5. Split archive files will require records.ini file to work with CIUv2, the records.ini file will be generated for you by UCC
  6. When Settings.ini variables splitreq & SplitArc are both active and set to YES (y) they will override not only the OneDataOnly as mention in bulletin #1 but also the OneDiscOnly variable.

It seems Beta Testing UCC v4.1.3.1 is very slow...

Therefore I am considering making it an open beta, meaning to make the beta version publicly available for anyone who want to try and test it, while supplying multiple communication channels to report problems through (forum, PM, email, etc.).

What do you think?

Currently having problems getting PZLib2 & Ztool to work in UCC, I need someone who can re-check these compressors arc.ini entries for me and identify the problem, I just can't figure out why they won't work.

Do not use pZlib v2, that's buggy and after releasing pZlib v3, no one uses v2.

I suggest to use either ztool's pzlib or pZlib v3, not both, but it's your decision.

Yes, I did mean 3, that was a typo.

Arc.ini Pzlib3:
Code:
[External compressor:PZlib3]
header = 0
packcmd = pZlib e -m2 -t2 -c128m - -o - <stdin> <stdout>
unpackcmd = pZlib d -t2 - -o - <stdin> <stdout>
Arc.ini ztool:
Code:
[External compressor:poodle]
header = 0
packcmd   = ztool e:poodle:t100p:cm0 - - <stdin> <stdout>
unpackcmd   = ztool d:poodle:t100p:cm0 - - <stdin> <stdout>
That'z ztool 0.0.19.9 with only one codec called poodle, unlike the version un ultraARC which is 0.0.19.8 and have multiple codecs.

Anyway, Pzlib3 gets me a freearc error while ztool crashes arc.exe

This is what i using in arc.ini, never had problems with it

Code:
[External compressor:pZLib3]
header = 0
;packcmd = pZLib e {options} -m2 -t25p -c128m - -o - $$arcdatafile$$.tmp -o - <stdout>
packcmd = pZLib e {options} -t100p - -o - $$arcdatafile$$.tmp -o - <stdout>
unpackcmd = pZLib d {options} -t75p - -o - <stdin> <stdout>

[External compressor:pOodle]
header = 0
packcmd   = ztool e:poodle:t100p:c128m - - <stdin> <stdout>
unpackcmd   = ztool d:poodle:t100p - - <stdin> <stdout>
For pzlib i guess the error comes from your "-t2" option.

PS: Also make sure you have both DLL files for ztool in the right place (oo2*.dll).
PPS: If i remember correct, CIU had problems if your arc.ini has wrong uppercase letters in arc.ini for pzlib for decompression. It should be "pZLib3" exactly. I don't know why, should be UltraARC's code fault.
