I was wondering which swap trick is the easiest and the safest? Could someone help me, or should I go ahead and buy a mod chip?

Things like the knife/cog swap trick are self-defeatingly cheapskate! Get a modchip. Messiah is out now. Get that or the OrigaChip (what I've got).
