DiRT 3 (DVD9 to 1x DVD5) *Multi 6* *FULL* *FreeArc+CA*

1) Install the game

2) Extract 'DiRT3_1xDVD5.7z' contents

3) Copy from DVD9 to 'DiRT3_DVD5' folder the following folders:

DirectX
GFWL
OpenAL
Rapture3D

4) Delete from game's installation folder:

dirt3_game.exe
dirt3_gdf.dll

5) Launch FreeArc and then compress the game's installation folder contents :

Output archive: DiRT3_arc

Compression: -mx -ld800m

Make exe: Not Checked

6) Move DiRT3_arc.arc and extract 'freearc.sfx.7z' contents to 'DiRT3_DVD5' folder

how i use custom module freearc.sfx

when i open the sfx with freearc, then come a pop up without text and a close button
Replace Peter's custom freearc.sfx with default in FreeARC installation folder, remember to back up the default one.

Weird,my archive is < 4gb, windows exe limitation?

Try this trick:

1) Convert sfx archive to normal archive (DiRT3_arc.arc)

2) Rename freearc.sfx to DiRT3_arc.exe

And then put both files in 'DiRT3_DVD5' folder

My archive is 4,13 gb.
I can't try the trick because the error show me when I try to remove the game, or install, or restore. I'm blocked.
Same here. I solved deleting all Codemasters->DiRT3 entries into registry.
Then you can manually delete the DiRT3 install folder and reinstall the game. ;)

Same problem here.

How to solve it ??

Make the iso for testing, if DiRT3_arc.exe didn't trigger, try to disable the Antivirus

Hello, I have a problem, I do everything as explained but when I'm installing the game when it comes to open DiRT3_arc_exe a pup up appears saying that "this is not freearc or the archive is corrupted". How can I fix that? I've downloaded many times freearc.sfx.7z and it is always the same. I'm running Win 7 x64

Hey peterf1999. Can I update & then convert the game?

EDIT: I installed the update and size is the same, so I can convert with update 1.2.
EDIT2: I tested it and it WON'T work. You must apply the connversion on a clear installation.
