Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (1x DVD9 to 2x DVD5) Multi 10
1) Make temp folders:
'CONVICTION_1'
'CONVICTION_2'
2) Copy DVD9 contents to 'CONVICTION_1' folder
3) Extract & overwrite 'SCC_2xDVD5.7z' contents to 'CONVICTION_1' folder
4) Launch repack.bat & wait...
5) Burn or make isos (UDF Format) with same label names of temp folders
Is there any way to prevent the installer asking for 'disk 5' instead of 'disk 2' or 'setup needs the next disk'......
Since the installation is based on layout.bin instead of a MSI installation table....... any program to edit layout.bin easily such as ORCA........
no. the only way to make it ask for 'disk 2' is if you edit the layout.bin into 3.9gb cab files.
based on the current layout, it counts each 1gb cab file as 1 disk.
all you have to do is take the GTA4 dvd5 conversion, modify editlayout.bat so that the value is 4000000000.
and then you will be left with only data1.cab-data3.cab.
put data3.cab on disc 2. The installer will ask for the appropriate disc #
this is my layout. It doesn't ask for disc 1 at the end. 1-2 install.

i don't know why some of you want a 1dvd5 install. Is it worth all that work to save 20 cents for the cost of an extra dvd?

...Nothing :'(
I tried on 2 different pc with windows 7 (i checked autorizations) and then i tried also on windows xp in the non-system folder, but the report of the bat file is always the same...
I have the Multi 10 version of game and i divided the files as described in the first post, in folders CONVICTION_1 and 2 :( However thanks for the support
Then the problem is not with the .bat file, but i am afraid it might be your game copy.......perhaps the cab files are damaged causing it's CRC32 and MD5 to change and be different of that embedded in the .bat file........
Try getting the proper Data1.hdr file and Data1.cab file..... probably faulty condition of the HDR files causes these sort of problems...because the conversion is working perfectly without any flaws in my game copy........

If i do this then i want to make a iso file from disk 1 but he sad the image is to big and the file is data1 its about 4 gb with what prg i can make a iso file from the disc without that message
PS i use magic iso maker
Use UDF format for iso creation.
From file menu -> new data cd/dvd image
select properties > from iso tab-> udf format checked
thanks senseman and peter
i used senseman's conversion and it works very good on win7 x64.
