===============

Ok my mouse pad really sucks sooo evil & bad.. I wrote my damned tutorial all over 2x
an somehow.. SOMEHOW.. it reloaded this page thus erasing ALL I wrote.

I'm tired.. I don't wanna redo it all over.. so figure it out on ur own at your own risk..
utilizing the below pages.

Oh well.. lets add KB963707 into the mix also, it too fails.

Why if someone asks? well I thought I'd try MS's cleanup installer thingy, then a reboot
then an attempt at re-installing dot net 2.0 that failed.. so I removed the other dot net
versions, tried windows update, ran into another failed install for some kinda dot net
all in one thingy.. said screw that.. ran over to the system restore point an loaded up
windows update one more time to find KB963707 now fails along with the original issue.

So yeah.. KB963707 also fails now. Not gonna try anymore MS made "we'll help"
software.

Oh an the error code for this one is.. Error Code: 0x80070663

Issues Below:

Update to .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 for the .NET Framework Assistant 1.0 x86 (KB963707)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP (KB974417)

The one system restore fixed from my screw up is below incase someone wonders.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86

So I sent some data to MS an got back a tag telling me "Severity rating: Severity C (Minimum business impact)"
very interesting imo.. we'll see what they think about what I sent e'm in a few days.

Meantime.. all help is appreciated.

[System Translation] -> The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade.

is what 0x66a translates to as an error code, might mean something else though from windows update

last post describes the steps / order you might need to take..

The solution is to do a manual install of the update.
