I was so eager to get the game but can't play it over lan. :(

have a loader there, unsure if it 'likes' the cracked exe or not, their loader is a sort of hack / mod, so not 'official' and steam at some time in the future could ban you for using it (or, just don't be online on steam when playing)...

either way, caveat emptor.. use at entirely your own risk

This won't work on the versions which bypass steam (IE. if you're using a fix, forget it). It's intended for use on a legit steam-bought version as it uses some functionality of steam (friends lists etc) even though, as Tippex rightly stated, it's not supported by Valve.

let's just cross our fingers and hope that ther is a 1337 hacker out there that will crack the multiplayer for us sometime (soon). For the poor man's sake let's leave it at that.
