View Full Version : Macintosh G4 Burning
Hello folks...I'm using toast 4.1.2 and the DC pack 4.0 with CDiRIP and CDI2ISO, and etc....I am having problems burning the games...I follow all the instructions in the pack and I dont know what i'm doing wrong....how do i also tell if a file is a self booting file if there is nothing in the .nfo file saying so? I'm a newbie and any info provided on Mac burning would be really helpful to me...mac heads seem to be rare in the dc scene and was hoping that someone could help me get playin some games!
thanks a bunch!

I have been having the same trouble, I got it all oK up to burning the self boot files...
I think basically a self booter is a CDI file, and what you need to do is unrar them, CDIrip them and then burn the audio file in a session first as Audio CD.
Then, you have to ISOFIX the data file. You have to get the correct LBA number from the CDIrip analysis and put that into the ISoFIX config file. You will then have an ISO running at the right sector on the CD. You can test you've done this right in toast by trying to mount it. If you get an error for instance "File Sharing could not be enabled," then you know your LBA number was wrong...
As far as I know there is no proper way to burn self boot files without Dis Juggler. I DO have this, but only for PC. I believe that there is a version for Mac, but I haven't found it yet... If you DO have this, please let me know (PLEASE)!!!
If you have virtual PC then you can burn the isos or bin and cue files from there as long as VPC recognises your CD-R. Mine doesn't, yet... if so, get yourself a copy of DiskJuggler, drop your ISOs in there and start toasting, I'm told that DJ is the best app for self booters.
Anyways, I hope I have been of some help and if you get it going, please let me know, as I'm in a similar kind quandry (sp.?) as you....
Cheers,

hehe.. macs
bow down to me as i tell u ho wto burn cdi's on the mac. First use cdi rip, then throw away that retarded audio track, then use isofix but first make sure the number inside the Isofix Config File is the same as the number cdi rip gave u. Then get rid of the boot.bin file. Finally burn, first burn the fixed iso as a multitrack cd-rom xa, then burn the header.iso as a multitrack cd-rom xa.
Now u've got a self-bootable dc game
