1.) Create folders 'DISK1' and 'DISK2' (that's label name) and copy content of DVD9 to folder 'DISK1'

2.) Download Red Faction Guerrilla.msi and copy to 'DISK1' and say yes to overwrite

3.) From 'DISK1\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache' MOVE to 'DISK2\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\pc\cache' this files:

sounds_r.vpp_pc
terr01_l0.vpp_pc
terr01_l1.vpp_pc
voices_r_FR.vpp_pc
voices_r.vpp_pc

4.) From 'DISK1' copy Autorun.inf to 'DISK2' folder and edit him to like this:

OPEN=0

5.) Burn or make iso's with label DISK1 and DISK2



Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

DVD 1: 3,73Gb
DVD 2: 3,99Gb

DISABLE your AV & Firewall Software. Thats what usually gives the installshield 1628 error. Then try installing again, should work fine.

double check the autorun.inf in disk 2 is the same as the conversion you followed. ( it will be wrong, as you copied it from disk1, without editing it )

No no, you didnt understand me. Installation start after DVD2 (DVD1-DVD2-DVD1 !!!). In autorun.inf on DVD2 is everything OK (OPEN=0).

Using your conversion, it doesn't ask for DVD 1 again but give me an error message:
Error 1309.Error reading from file: X:\program files\Volition Inc\Red Faction Guerrilla\build\dlc01\pc\cache\zonescript_dlc01.vp p_pc. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

What should I do? (where is my mistake)

first off check disk1 make sure that the file is actually there.
second make sure you moved ONLY the files listed from peter's conversion.

terr01_l1.vpp_pc

Anytime you have errors from a conversion. Delete those folders and start from the beginning again. Print off the conversion guide, follow each step carefully.

First thing to check is make sure your DVD labels are correct,
peter's should be:
DVD1 - RFG_1
DVD2 - RFG_2

just saying error keeps coming up, without stating which one your presently using isnt much help. post back which conversion you are using, and if you are installing a different language set other then english.

I just changed autorun.inf on disc 1 to this:
