Followed it to the letter, the most I can get out is 8KB and that's 1 out of 40 times.
It connects, it displays the track info but once you try to rip a track (doesn't matter wich one) it'll give me an error code.
tried in win98SE/winnt/win2k connected through a switch/hub/crossover cable.

It's kinda annoying seeing so many people can do it.
any ideas?

Tried on 3 systems.
1.-

128MB ram
Drive c=30 gig ide
Drive d=24 gig scsi raid 5
NICs=3com 905b, netgear NE100, 3com 509
Windows 2000 server

2.-
celeron 466
256MB ram
drive c=6 gig ide
drive d=5 gig ide
drive e=2x 60 gig ide (JBOD)
nic=3com 905b
windows 2000 server/windows NT server

3.-
2x Celeron 533
512MB ram
drive c=5 gig ide
drive d=6 gig ide
drive e=2x 30 gig ide (raid 0)
nic=3com 905c
windows 2000 pro/win98

Have used a linksys 10/100 8port switch, an allied telesyn 5 port hub, and 2 diffrent cat 5 UTP crossover cables.

my ip/mask is 10.10.0.0/255.255.0.0 and I use 10.10.0.1 as gateway (my router)
I map a static arp of 10.10.0.100 and my DC's MAC on my machines, they can connect, the DC shows this on the TV, I can get the track info, then I select any track other than 1 or 2, looks like it tries to recieve data(rotating swirl) then times out with error code "04A0300" and the rest are "04050100" and some others, I reset, then reconnect and try again.
sometimes I'll get 8k of the track data.

I already tried setting the machines to use 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 and no gateway, my machines used 192.168.0.1 and the DC 192.168.0.2 in arp, and same thing happens on all 3 machines and OSes.

I don't have my DC at hand so I don't have any details on it or the BBA, but I'll update later.

Hope it's enough details :)

Now before you ask why how do I have such equipment, I used to work at a computer store that went out of buisness, so I decided to stock up for free.

OMFG!!!!

It's working now!!!

I can tell you now that it does not work with windows 2000!

You have to make sure your DC BBA information is set to defaults.
I used the BB Passport to set them to default.
As soon as I did that, and tried again in win98 it worked!

I can confirm that it works great with the switch, hub and the crossover cable.
I'll have to test it on NT next.
