The Sims 3 - DVD9 to 2xDVD5

1 - make a folder for dvd 1 and dvd 2
2 - copy all the files from the dvd to dvd 1 folder,
3 - GameData\Shared\Packages\FullBuild2.package goes into dvd 2 folder, but u must keep this folder structure, so make a gamedata folder (in the dvd 2 folder), make a shared folder inside the gamedata folder, make a packages folder inside the shared folder, then drag FullBuild2.package to the shared folder. delete FullBuild2.package from the dvd 1 folder after!

4 - cut and paste NonPackaged, from dvd 1 folder to \gamedata\shared\ in the dvd 2 folder
5 - copy and paste the support folder from the dvd 1 folder to the dvd 2 folder (the root of dvd 2), dont delete support folder from dvd 1!
6 - autorun.inf from dvd 1 - modify to

[autorun]
icon=Sims3.ico

save it to the root of dvd 2 folder. (we've removed the action to launch the setup, just so you know)

7 - skuversion, eauninsall.ico should also be in the root of dvd 2 folder
8 - add any extra stuff u need
9 - burn with udf format / make the image with udf format, label both discs as "Sims3"

the install step of the game is dvd 1 then 2, and thats it.

there are differences between copy and cut (duhhhh) so, when i say to cut, u CUT NOT COPY and vice versa
i have tested this exact method twice tonight, it has always worked
edit: this IS for 2 x dvd 5, thanks to omega59 for pointing that out :)

you forgot the sims3.ico in root of dvd 2

The Sims 3 (DVD-9 to 2x DVD-5)


First, create the folders DVD 1 and DVD 2.


DVD 1

- Copy all files from the dvd to "DVD 1".

- Delete the file “FullBuild2.package" which can be found in “Sims3\GameData\Shared\Packages".

- Delete the folder "NonPackaged" which can be found in “Sims3\GameData\Shared".



DVD 2

- Copy all files from the dvd to "DVD 2".

- Delete the files “FullBuild0.package" and “FullBuild1.package" which can be found in “Sims3\GameData\Shared\Packages".

- Open "Autorun.inf" in DVD 2 folder and change it into this:

Burn
- Burn the files from "DVD 1" with label "Sims3" (4,28 gb)
- Burn the files from "DVD 2" with label "Sims3" (2,86 gb)


PS: During the installation, the installation program will ask you to put in the next floppy. By this, it means DVD 2. Hope this isn't a problem, but all this works perfectly. Please leave some comments.
