Everytime I try to dummy a game that isn't self-bootable it doesn't bootup when I insert it at the boot screen. A chrome reindeer and utopia logo come up and nothing happens. I have tried adding a dummy file using nero and have used autodummy with Fireburner with a .bin and .cue file. Neither cd worked and the same results occurred for both. Can anyone help me? Thanks...

Perhaps my Fireburner settings were wrong. I had the following settings:

Disc At Once

Eject CD

Close Session

Should I have has multisession checked or maybe Track at Once? Someone please help!

well from my experience i have never had the reindeer come up on a game that i have converted,i make an image of the game using cdrwin, then drag the .bin image onto another prog called "bin2boot",this does as it says and makes the game bootable then burn back to cd, and play,it sounds to me as though you are burning the game with the utopia boot cd util on there aswell.
the bootcd is a seperate prog, you have a game that is not self booting...you bung in the utopia cd and let it load, open dc (do not turn off) take out utopia cd and put in your non booting game and again off it goes.

Sorry if I made it sound weird but I do have the boot cd burnt. I put the boot cd in and then I swap discs and put in the game. After I put in the game the reindeer turns chrome and a utopia symbol comes up behind it. Does this indicate a bad burn? I'm trying to burn Virtua Tennis which I know needs a dummy file. I use AutoDummy to add the dummy file and then I burn it with Fireburner but the above happens when I try to play it. Can anyone else help? Thanks for your reply though Oldman...

no problem m8,
however i just realized you say dummy file/s..as we all know the dc reads a cd from the outside edge in towards the middle...dummy files all they do is fill up the cd so the game data is nearer to the outside edge of the cd hence faster loading.

to make it self booting follow what i said in earlier post use BIN2BOOT and cdrwin

i have virtua tennis here and burn it with dj2 no problem no need for dummy files.

hope you get sorted

Yo man all I want to do is add a dummy file to this bin/cue game and burn it with fireburner. I've tried everything and followed all the tutorials i've read perfectly but when I stick it in the Dreamcast it doesn't load up. Can you add a dummy file to games that aren't self-bootable? I've tried adding a dummy file to this game with AutoDummy but it never works. I need some help with my Fireburner settings. Someone please help me.

Hey Oldman if I use this bin2boot will the game work perfectly without adding a dummy file? Please someone help i'm dying to burn this. Thanks...

bin2boot will make the game self booting without the need for dummy files etc
dj2 and dj3 are the best progs for dc stuff, i won't bother you anymore. the advice will hopefully help you, personally i'd dump fireburner and forget about dummy files.

Don't worry about it guy I need you to bother me. So if I use bin2boot I won't need a dummy file? Will the game run perfect because I heard that Virtua Tennis only works if you insert a dummy file. Also Discjuggler 3.0 doesn't work for me so would it be okay if I convert the .cdi file to .nrg with CDINERO. Will it still self-boot?
Thanks Oldman. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
