1. Copy the D9 to a new folder called temp

2. Remove the files apps.rar english.rar maps01.rar mapsNOR.rar mapsSTA.rar mapsUNC.rar mapsWAR.rar spanish.rar from the temp\data folder & place on another folder called datatemp (the datatemp folder not in the temp folder)

3. Burn the contents of the temp folder to a DVD with the Label: Disk 1

4. Del data01.rar data02.rar data03.rar data04.rar dialog.rar isact.rar movice.rar textres.rar in temp\data folder, remove all files from datatemp folder to the data folder.

5. Using the Notepad open the autorun.inf file and edit the following line:
OPEN=autorun.exe –auto

to

OPEN=0

6. Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: Disk 2

If you did everything properly, disk1 should contain 3,13GB, while disk2 — 4,13GB.

For the MULTI5 Version you can use the following FULL-Backup conversation from 2DVD9 to 2or3DVD5.

Advantage:
If you install the Game in English, German oder Spanish, you'll only need the insert DVD1 and DVD2. If you need sucking French or Italian, you'll need to have DVD3 inserted, too.

Because I changed around the installation sequences for the files, you can download the new sequences here: 488

Instructions for the DVDs:

First, make a new folder, name it Mass Effect.
Copy Over the first DVD9 into this folder.

After copying, go into the data folder inside and cut all the rar files and paste them somewhere safe (it's a good idea to leave them on the same partition, so you don't have to wait all the time for your computer finishing moving the files around...).

Extract the file mentioned above to the data subfolder of the Mass Effect folder and overwrite all files. If can also change around in the installmanifest files on your own, if you like to and know what you're doing...

The Mass Effect folder is now the same for all the 3 DVDs. You only have to copy the right files into the data subfolder, that belong to the different DVDs.

Therefore go to the data folder on your second DVD9 and copy all the rar files to the safe place, whrere the others from the first DVD9 are waiting.

Then burn the 3 DVDs with the following rar files in the data folder (you can either move them into the data folder, burn a DVD, move them away and move the next ones into there, or you simply put in your burning software the right files directly from the safe place into the data folder on the DVD-side of the program.


So for DVD 1, the following rar files have to be in the data subfolder (name for the DVD: Mass Effect 1):

Done. Now you can install the game.


If you want to have Italien or ... French on the 2nd DVD (so that you don't have to insert DVD3) you have to change the locations for the 2 german files (german.rar and isact_de.rar) from DVD 2 to DVD 3, and the 2 files of your preferred language should then be on DVD 2.
Then have a look at the installmanifest file in the data folder for your language and change the sequence according to your needs (be aware, that you change the file sequence number an the correct disc number after moving around the textblock for each file!)

1) Create 2 Temp folders on your hardrive.
Name one folder: Disk 1. This will be the name (Label) of DVD1.
Name the other folder: Disk 2. This will be the name (Label) of DVD2.

Here is the solution: edit installmanifest_en.ini and installmanifest_es.ini on both discs and replace "Disk 1" entries with "Disk 2" for all rars which are placed on second DVD. This will fix both missing shortcuts and "Insert next DVD" prompt. Make sure you put those modified .inis onto both DVDs.

Test and Working 100%

This conversion actually works but with one minor detail. Senseman forgot to write that you need to copy the content of the downloaded data.rar (ini files) to all 4 DVDs, and not only the first one, because if you -Copy all files & folder (except *.rar) in DVD2/data to DVD3/data and DVD4/data. than the ini files in DVD 2, 3, 4 would be the original ones, and you don't want that. Otherwise it works fine (English installation tested on XP SP3). Install sequence 1>2>3>4. The content of the folders before creating iso's should be:

ME2_Disc1 = 3155.6 MB
ME2_Disc2 = 3416.0 MB
ME2_Disc3 = 4001.1 MB
ME2_Disc4 = 4301.9 MB

and that's without any Razor folder or any other whatsoever.
