I don't experience problems with other games, but Hard to be a God freezes my computer after 30 seconds or up to an hour of gaming. There seems to be no consistency what causes it. Game just freezes and sometimes the audio/music just loops in the background. No keyboard shortcuts work so I have to hardware reset the computer. Seems totally random.

I have tried upgrading and downgrading nvidia drivers, I have reinstalled directx, I have upgraded my soundcard drivers, I have tried different settings in nvidia control panel. I have tried the game with different ingame video settings, I have tried two different executables to run the game (desperate). Generally all drivers on my computer should be up-to-date.

Hardware:
MSI P6N SLI V2 motherboard
Intel Core 2 E6850 processor
nVidia 7900 GTX gpu
2Gb of RAM
M-Audio 1010LT soundcard
Razer, Western Digital, Antec..

I Have the same CPU as you, an X-Fi sound card, 4gb RAM, Asus 8600GTS, Gigabyte P35 S3. So that's pretty close of what you got from many points of view.
Didin't had problems at all. My main problem was before Hard to be a God. I've had crashes frequently, until I've discovered that it was Bios related, as the Bios had some problems with PS2 keyboards. Try updating the Bios also. Check on MSI site. Hopefully you know how to update the MB Bios.
If even after that, you still have problems, maybe you need a HDD format(at least on the OS partition, if you have partitioned your HDD) and a clean OS reinstall(XP/Vista)

Moved!

Doesn't appear to be 'crack/backup' related.

Sorry I posted it under crack/backup, because I have been running cracked exe also and maybe it's related to that.
Thanks wolfsrain for tips, however my install of WinXP is quite fresh and so are the HDDs. I've had this install for about a month. I will try to flash the bios though. Maybe that helps, though I have had no problems with any other game.

No one else experiencing problems with this game?

[edit]
Some more info. I upgraded the bios but no effect.
I left some system scans in the background while playing and it showed CPU usage is 100% all the time ingame. Damn.

Try a memory test of some kind, you can find some freeware testers on the net, but most if not all require its booted from a floppy during post/startup.
