hi guys!

we need your help..

we are currently pursuing a study on the concept of copy protection. the point is to be able to identify authenticated files and to copy-protect these files on a CD/DVD.

we are having a problem on how to identify files that are authentic and on what software/technology to use to create something that can copy-protect these files.

what we're asking is, can anyone suggest or post links suggesting technologies/softwares that would enable us to make this study doable?

thanks a lot!

See http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_protections.shtml for a start, see the PC Games forum FAQ and search around at http://www.cdfreaks.com for descriptions and guides.

can you explain more...

are you trying to identify protected files? or files that should be protected by your protection (whatever that is)...

the main protections used on pc games are (in no particular order) safedisc, securom, starforce, tages/solidshield, and vob...

other pc protectors are armadillo, safecast, trymedia, activemark etc etc...

i'd advise focusing on a particular 'type' otherwise your study is going to get very big...

more info helps :)
