I know this probably isn't the focus of this forum, but I was hoping I could ask about ePSXe.

What I want to know is are there any PC control pads that are easily available that I could use with ePSXe? I've never been a PC gamer before so using a keyboard for gaming doesn't seem natural to me.

Second, would there be any risk in using the original disks to play these games using my PC, or would I be better off using back-ups?

If it helps at all, I'm only using ePSXe to play NTSC games.

I'm not sure if I've worded that well, so if you need any more information, just ask.

Thanks. :)

EDIT: Would this do the trick?

LOGITECH PRECISION GAMEPAD (http://www.shoppingsquare.com.au/p_1983__LOGITECH_PRECISION_GAMEPAD_FOR_PC)

It doesn't have analog sticks or rumble thingys, but I'm not worried about that for now, I'm just looking for a gamepad similar to a PS contoller that doesn't cost too much. (Work has been a bit slow recently. :( )

You can get a handy utility that will make disk images of your PSX games and patch them also (with patches available at mega games.com).

That way you prolong your media.

Any gamepad will essentially work with epsxe since its emulating the psx system and uses the microsoft joypad system to do so.

Thanks for that. I went and bought the controller after reading your post and it works fine. :)

I know about the PSX patching thing, but my PSX isn't modchipped and I have no intention of getting it done. I figure it's just as easy for me to only use it for my PAL games and use the ePSXe for NTSC games.

To prolong their life I will make backups for my NTSC games though. It doesn't take long and I have a bunch CD-Rs lying around.

Thanks again, you've been a big help. :)

i think the best control pad is the 360 wired control pad and using your real psx discs is fine but i like to copy the discs to my pc to reduce load times
