thats better used this from cd-2-dvd
Another one huge game..
I must write a "how to" for this kind of installers sometime, they are all the same way.

2) Copy all file to "Crysis1"

3) Cut the following files and paste them in "Crysis2".

Freeman's conversion works for me, too. I've choosed before installing the hungarian language pack too. Therefore the DVD swap method was DVD1-DVD2-DVD1-DVD2-DVD1. Its really weird, but the install was perfect.

I've the game, and my system is Vista.

http://rapidshare.com/files/69189101/Crysis.rar.html (msi) 2nd edited msi. 1st edited by Freeman100. Works with every language, tested with Vista (probably with XP works too, try it - edited: not probably, it really works), the DVD swap method is DVD1-DVD2-DVD1.

How i did it:

1. Create CRYSIS_1 and CRYSIS_2 folders on the same partition. Put contents of CRYSIS Dvd9 into CRYSIS_1.

2. Move directx9c, comrade, Czech.cab, English.cab, French.cab, Genera~1.cab, Hungar~1.cab, Levels1.cab and Levels2.cab into CRYSIS_2 folder.

3. Now go back to CRYSIS_1 folder, when there, press ctrl+a, thus selecting all files. Then, while keep holding ctrl, click every remaining file with .cab ext. All the rest of files, which are comparably small, should be copied to CRYSIS_2 folder, which now has 1.73 GB in size.

If you did everything correctly, CRYSIS_1 folder is now being of 4.34 GB. Now edit your Crysis.msi, so it's media table looks as follows:

DiskId LastSequence DiskPrompt Cabinet VolumeLabel Source
i2 i2 L64 S255 S32 S72

Pros: no 1-2-2-1-2-1 sequence anymore, just disk1 then disk2 and you're all set + contiguous free space on 2nd disk, which could become handy. :S
Cons: you tell me :P

Crysis (DVD9 to 2 DVD’s)

This conversion was originally written by ‘Pervert’.
I have re-done it with a couple of minor changes.
I have personally tested it on WinXP and it works fine.
‘Pervert’ says it also works with Vista.
X64 operating system has not yet been confirmed!

The install finishes on DVD2.

1) Create 2 Temp folders on your hardrive.
Name one folder: CRYSIS_1. This will be the name (Label) of DVD1.
Name the other folder: CRYSIS_2. This will be the name (Label) of DVD2.

NOTE: The easiest way to explain this conversion is to copy the ‘Entire’ contents of the original Crysis DVD9 to both the CRYSIS_1 and CRYSIS_2 folders, then Delete what we don’t want. It takes a little longer but this way we can be certain the correct folders and files are on the right DVD’s.

DVD1
2) Copy all the contents of the Crysis DVD9 disc to the CRYSIS_1 folder.

3) Delete the following folders from the CRYSIS_1 folder:

directx9c
comrade

4) Delete the following files from the CRYSIS_1 folder:

Czech.cab
English.cab
French.cab
Genera~1.cab
Hungar~1.cab
Levels1.cab
Levels2.cab

5) Download and Install ‘Orca’ from HERE (http://www.cd-2-dvd.com/downloads/orca.zip)
Once Orca is installed, Right Click the file ‘Crysis.msi’ and from near the top of the menu choose ‘Edit with Orca’. (You may have to edit the properties of this file and untick the ‘read only’ attribute, but as it is copied to the hardrive it is probably already edited automatically).
When opened you will see 2 window panes, go to the ‘Tables’ one on the left and scroll down to ‘Media’
Click on ‘Media’ this will show you the entries in the Right pane.

For DiskID 1-16, edit the entries in the DiskPrompt column to: CRYSIS_1
Also for DiskID 1-16 edit the entries in the VolumeLabel column to: CRYSIS_1

For DiskID 17-24, edit the entries in the DiskPrompt l column to: CRYSIS_2
Also for DiskID 17-24 edit the entries in the VolumeLabel column to: CRYSIS_2

Then ‘Save’ it.

6) Using the Notepad create a text file and name it Serial.txt. Copy your serial to this text file.
Save the Serial.txt file to the CRYSIS_1 folder.

7) Burn the contents of the CRYSIS_1 folder to a DVD with the Label: CRYSIS_1

DVD2
1) Again Copy all the contents of the Crysis DVD9 disc to the CRYSIS_2 folder.

2) Delete the following files from the CRYSIS_2 folder:

Levels3.cab
LevelsMP.cab
LowSpe~1.cab
Object~1.cab
Polish.cab
PunkBu~1.cab
Sounds~1.cab
Suppor~1.cab
Support.cab

3) Using the Notepad open the Autorun.inf file and edit as shown below then Save it:

[autorun]
open=0
icon=AutoRunCD.exe, 0

4) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc.
NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want.

5) Burn the contents of the CRYSIS_2 folder to a DVD with the Label: CRYSIS_2

Well done mate, good re-write :) I have tested my method of removing additional languages/punkbuster/gamespycomrade with the above method and it works perfectly (tested with Daemon Tools on WinXP SP2 x86). Below I have explained what additional edits I made to the Crysis.msi file with Orca, and also the Setup.ini file.

@Ahmz055
Yep well done, now this makes it an 'English' only installer. Does it actually fit on one DVD5? I presume it does or you would not have bothered deleting the extra languages. If it doesnt fit on one DVD5 then there is really no point in doing the extra MSI edits. ;)

Unfortunately no, it does not fit on one DVD. Deleting the files was just for neatness sake :) Also the advantage of doing this is so that you can skip the opening "Language Selection" step and also install via the "Easy" method instead of having to go through the Custom setup and de-selecting all the extra languages including punkbuster/comrade.

It may be usefull to also add that removing Punkbuster completely, isnt that good an idea..Im assuming if you have the original you will want to play the game online. Removing PB completely from the backup will mean that (people with the original) will need extra files in order to use there backup properly

thats problem with msi engine :)

but never test from hdd to be 101% burn on mount created iso
because many games/installer needs proper volumelabel
and 2xdvd5 cannot be installed proprly from hdd
only one dvd5 can be installed [and not always]

clean temp folders [all folders that u find on c:\]
backup c:\windows\installer [hidden folder]
and clean this folder
backup C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information [hidden]
and clean this folder
start install from iso image mounted never from hdd

Now Works...Thanks....

At the end of the installation, apperas twice a warning message saying somethong like "Can't add to the windows game explorer......" and other saying..."can't add firewalll game something..." do you know what it could be this warnings....?

Thanks!!!!!

Crysis.exe is in Binari~2.cab. How i can integrate the Fixed EXE in the CAB file?

Extract the Binari~2.CAB with winzip or winrar to a temp folder then replace the Crysis.exe with the crack.

Copy the following list to a text file called 'list.txt':

atimgpud.dll
cry3dengine.dll
cryaction.dll
cryaisystem.dll
cryanimation.dll
cryentitysystem.dll
cryfont.dll
crygame.dll
cryinput.dll
crymovie.dll
crynetwork.dll
cryphysics.dll
cryrenderd3d10.dll
cryrenderd3d9.dll
cryrendernull.dll
cryscriptsystem.dll
crysis.exe
crysisdedicatedserver.exe
crysoundsystem.dll
crysystem.dll
fmod_event.dll
fmod_event_net.dll
fmodex.dll
fxc.exe
ijl15.dll
intellaptopgaming.dll
jpeg62.dll
shallocator.dll
zlib1.dll
_3d7af61edae25cc9e6a2958041144f6b
_06423a76e0fa547d6bc15877aa2391d7

Next, copy the above 'list.txt' file and 'cabarc.exe' into the temp folder then open a command prompt and navigate to the temp folder and issue this command: cabarc -m lzx:21 n Binari~2.CAB @list.txt

This will recompress the files and crack into a new Binari~2.CAB file! If you don't have cabarc.exe then download it here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/platformsdk/cab/2.0/w98nt42kmexp/en-us/cabsdk.exe

Extract it with Winrar/Winzip, cabarc.exe is in the BIN folder!

I made my own conversion of the UK English game to 2 x DVD5 if anyone wants to try. It doesn't ask to reinsert DVD1, only installs in English by default (bypasses language select and doesn't install foreign files), installs the game and anything else it needs, GameSpy Comrade, C++ Redist, DirectX. Theres also plenty of space to put the 1.2 patch/crack on DVD2 as well.

Crysis DVD9 to 2 x DVD5 [ENGLISH]

1. Find a drive with 7GB free and create a temp folder called crysis

2. Open the crysis folder and create another folder inside called DVD1 then copy the contents of your Crysis DVD into this folder.

3. Download this RAR file: http://www.turboupload.com/download/IvgsumVhshK0/CrysisEnglish2DVD5.rar or from here: http://uploaded.to/?id=3bzsat
and extract it into the crysis folder, overwrite crysis.msi and setup.ini when asked.

4. There should now be a file called makedvd2.bat in the crysis folder, run this to create DVD2.

5. You can now put the 1.2 patch and crack (or whatever is the latest patch/crack) in the DVD2 folder if you want, just create a new folder in the DVD2 folder and copy the patch/crack into it! You can also delete the DirectX files from the directx9c folder in DVD2 then download and extract (with Winrar or Winzip) the latest DirectX into the empty folder, the game will then install the latest DiretcX if needed.

6. Now simply burn the contents of the DVD1 folder to a re-writable DVD with the label Disk1 and then burn contents of the DVD2 folder to a re-writable DVD with the label Disk2 and test the game installs fully.

7. If all goes OK then burn to 2 x DVD +/-R

This should make it easier for the n00bs :)

I did exactly like the author of the conversion said, but when the installer says to insert the Disk 2 it doesn't continue the installation. I put the Disk and press Ok, but the installation doesn't continue, still asking me for the Disk 2.

I follow step by step the conversion.

Please, help me guys.

4) Delete the following files from the CRYSIS_1 folder:

Czech.cab
English.cab
French.cab

Here is the new conversion of Crysis:

DvD1=3.72Gb
DvD2=2.35Gb
Full Install=6.69Gb

1) We need as usual two folders on our HD named "Crysis1" and "Crysis2"
I prefer to move all the files to one folder and then cut+paste the dvd2 files to the other folder, so make these two dir at the same partition to gain time.

2) Copy all file to "Crysis1"

3) Cut the following files and paste them in "Crysis2".
Crysis (FOLDER)
directx9c (FOLDER)
AllOther.cab
Czech.cab
English.cab
French.cab
Genera~1.cab
Hungar~1.cab
Levels1.cab
Levels2.cab
Levels3.cab
LevelsMP.cab
Polish.cab
PunkBu~1.cab
Support.cab

4) Edit the Crysis.msi:
Go to media table and change from ID1-ID10 the disk prompt to "#1" and from ID11-ID24 the disk prompt to "#2" and edit the volume labels from ID1-ID10 to "Crysis1" and all the others to "Crysis2"
1 1326 #1 Suppor~1.cab Crysis1
2 1327 #1 Sounds~1.cab Crysis1
3 1328 #1 Object~1.cab Crysis1
4 1329 #1 LowSpe~1.cab Crysis1
5 1330 #1 Englis~1.cab Crysis1
6 1331 #1 Langua~1.cab Crysis1
7 1361 #1 Binari~1.cab Crysis1
8 1392 #1 Binari~2.cab Crysis1
9 1398 #1 AllOth~1.cab Crysis1
10 1398 #1 AllOth~2.cab Crysis1
11 1401 #2 AllOther.cab Crysis2
12 1404 #2 Support.cab Crysis2
13 1413 #2 PunkBu~1.cab Crysis2
14 1417 #2 Polish.cab Crysis2
15 1507 #2 LevelsMP.cab Crysis2
16 1622 #2 Levels3.cab Crysis2
17 1780 #2 Levels2.cab Crysis2
18 1874 #2 Levels1.cab Crysis2
19 1878 #2 Hungar~1.cab Crysis2
20 1889 #2 Genera~1.cab Crysis2
21 1893 #2 French.cab Crysis2
22 1896 #2 English.cab Crysis2
23 1900 #2 Czech.cab Crysis2
24 1937 #2 Crysis2

5) Copy from "Crysis1" autorun.inf & AutoRunCD.exe to "Crysis2"
Edit Autorun.inf, change line "open=AutoRunCD.exe" to "open=0"
Put here any patches if available (install stops at dvd2)

6) Burn contents of "Crysis1" with same label. Do the same for "Crysis2".

7) The end....

I tried this conversion on 3pc with xp pro sp2 and it works 100% a a message is insert Crysis DVD but continue instalation
