Dreamcast wont read anymore..Help?

I burned a couple self boot games and they worked fine, a day later my console starts up with white lines all across and loads very slow.....now all games, original and burned have the messed up screen and slow load....

can you burn your motor with burned games?
am i screwed?

what write speed did you use, i am just asking because if it was high the quality of the pits and valleys might not of been good causing the laser to work harder then necessary to run your backups and might of resulted in premature failure,
i know others on this board would disagree but i have the clients that would agree that there problems went away after i installed a new laser kit for them
