I bought the new linkin park cd and I tried to put the songs on my mp3 player and it won't play back. I believe it is due to the copy protection. Can anyone refer me a program I can use to remove this protection so I can place the songs on my mp3 player. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

(Wrong forum, moved.)

How did you "put" the songs onto your MP3 player? Did you use a software; what software with what settings? (You see, if you copied the songs then you already defeated the copy protection, if any...)

Well, I just ripped them from my cd using Windows Media Player. Then I do use software from my MP3 player to transfer them on but when I try to play them back it says error. I know the cd is copy protected because I check the songs and they say protected and in the properties it says liscence. It sucks I can't use them on my MP3 player. Is there any good programs for this purpose? Oh, I like this album but it's far from thier best. It's just a little different. Ok, any help would be appreciated.

You can try Slysoft's AnyDVD. It isn't only for DVDs. It also removes some AudioCD CopyProtections.

Oh, please, not Windows Media Player, not a M$ software! E.g. CDRWin can rip audio tracks; perhaps, LAME can convert audio tracks directly into MP3's; or search around on Google for stand-alone CD ripper programs - there are hundreds of them, choose a free one...

I had the same problem with the Linkin Park CD. And I am MAD! I found a workaround for me.

See my blog entry on it:
