Hi to everybody!

I have used the RELOADED method and the game starts up, but when I arrive to the DM logo right after the game presentation, I get an application error in mm.exe that telling me that the "memory could not be reead"

What is this all about??

P.S.: With MAXI image do you mean the one of 6Gb or 3Gb??? The "maxi" .zip contains the 3Gb ones.....

Strange.... a friend of mine has the UK version and using the C@T no-dvd it works good!!

It was working for me either, but I was able to load the game once, then I whent out of the city for a few days, and now that I'm back it does not even run: lookinhg the Task Manager the mm.exe appears and disappears in a second...

No way...
I was with Force war 93.71 and I have tried also to restore previous 91.47, but its not enough.

The C@T no-dvd still does not work and the RELOADED one works but I get a memory access error when it should start to load the menu after game presentation.

Any suggestions??

same problem here - trying to use the censored version in combination with the uncut patch and updating to 1.1... no way

the REL crack only works for "original" uncut versions updated to 1.1, not for censored versions made uncut with the uncut patch (client.dll/server.dll)

seems the patch 1.1 also serves the purpose to make the uncut patch useless....

so we have to wait or continue playing with 1.0, I presume :rolleyes:

FINALLY I FOUND IT!! :D

From the CureROM forums (http://forum.curerom.net/showthread.php?tid=298&page=4):
1. Get the latest daemon tools from http://www.daemon-tools.cc

2. Install daemon tools.

3. Load image in daemon-tools (no emulation options on) - full image works for me, haven't tried mini/maxi.

4. Start YASU, click OK.

5. Run Dark Messiah ;-D

If it doesn't work - your image is wrong.
My Dark Messiah is VERSION 1.00 and NOT 1.01.

I'll play now with version 1.00 as it finally works with this one.
Don't want to try any further with version 1.01....
Just too tired about that!! :)

If someone wants to try version 1.01 with this method, well come then back here to tell us how was it going!! ;)

the mm.exe by RLD does NOT work with the 1.01 cut version where an uncut patch was applied to! cause the crack needs to replace the same dll's that need to be replaced to make it uncut.

well i got the german cut version, patched to 1.01, applied the rld files - works, and these dlls make it uncut too. so everything ok.

@pirata this is old news. worked from the first day with a proper mds, daemon 4.06 and a virtual drive hider. should also make no problems with 1.01

Both cracks from GCW (V1.0 & V1.01) also don't work for me.
I use now the MaxiImage + YASU V1.03 + Alcohol 1.9.6 and it works fine.

the reloaded version worked for me, for a while. then i kept getting a memory error. so i did this:

1) right-click desktop icon
2) select 'properties', then 'shortcut' tab
3) target: "c:\........\mm.exe" -novid

doing this allowed me to access the main menu and lower some video settings, plus now there are no intro/cutscene movies. so far it has yet to crash again.

@kaczor: That's a general protection fault error message. Do you get it with or without a crack? Try without a crack and read the forum FAQ, too.

Actually I cannot understand why people are so afraid of using the original CD/DVD (I suppose they own one :o) that they uninstall the 1.01 patch just to have a working way of playing without DVD :/
Of course, there's a lot better stuff than switching CDs every hour but honestly I never got the idea behind physically removing IDE drives in order to play SF games.
It takes a few minutes to unplug them (including OS shutdown and boot) and can crash or destroy your OS and or hardware which is way too risky for me...
I'd rather use the original CD than doing such stuff - unless you don't own the original ;)
All this unblacklist stuff and hacking around in my bios, setting games to weird compatibility modes is not much better and takes quite some time to be good at :/
Of course scratches are not fine, however 5€ for a replacement is imho not very much.
Anyway, you can avoid that by taking care of it and putting it back to its case and not throwing it through your living room or letting the dog piss on it...

Hi all,

i installed the procycon release,english language,added the 1.01 patch,replaced the files by RZR´s release on GCW,Intro shows up, but then game crashes to desktop with "Engine error,could not load library client"

I´m using XP SP2, all up to date, Detonator 91.47.
By the way, same message comes up if i mount the mini-image from GCW.

YASU and all the other stuff didn´t fix it either.

Anybody got an idea on this?

Why don't all you folks chasing nodvd/fixed .exe's for Dark Messiah just migrate your game across to Steam and play it through that.
Oh wait. That would mean you would have actually have to purchase the game to do that. My bad.

All you legit owners out there, just make sure you run the steamsetup.exe in your Dark Messiah game folder so you don't have to download the entire lot of game files. You'll still have one hell of a download waiting for you (800+ megs) but at least you can leave your game disc in its box after it's finished.

Great game btw. Picked it up for $69.95au at EB..

Hey guys I have v1.02 and it works fine.

1.First install Dark Messiah and update to 1.02 (I downloaded 1.01 updated and then downloaded 1.02 and updated but I think you can go straight to 1.02 without 1.01 patch)

4.Then download yasu 1.05

5.Install Daemon Tools and restart computer.

6.Unrar the poseden image (the main rar file contains another rar file inside it. Unrar the first rar to the desktop. Then unrar the new rar(which contains the images(named poseden_DMOMMGNC.mdf and poseden_DMOMMGNC.mds) to the desktop.

7.Load or mount the poseden_DMOMMGNC.mds file with daemon tools. (No emulation needed)

8. Unrar Yasu 1.05 to the desktop. Then run yasu.exe and it say it is going to hide your cd drives. click ok.

9. Now run the game and it should show a disk icon for a whole minute (this happens every time, you have to wait 60 seconds) then it will do one of the following:run the game or say that there is a conflict with emulation software.

10. If there is a conflict with emulation software (its ok i still get this message every two to three times I try to run the game), run yasu.exe again to unhide the drivers and then run it again to hide them. Also try exiting out of daemon tools with the image mounted. Then try running the game. If it still doesn't work try unmounting the poseden image, running yasu twice(to unhide then hide again) then mount the image again and run the game. Also make sure you do not have another image mounted on another drive with another software(Alcohol 120, etc).

11. Basically just mess around with yasu.exe and mounting and unmounting the game and it should work. I have always got it to work without using the daemon tools emualtion, so leave it off.

Keep repeating steps 10 and 11. Since this is not a foolproof way getting the game to run, you must keep messing around with yasu and dt as I described the previous steps.

Also you can try disabling your cd drives in device manager even though I did not have to do this.

Hey guys, I noticed in another Board, that Blindwrite 6 seems to be blacklisted in updated SecuRom-Versions.

So don´t blame the DaemonTools/Y.a.s.u. V1.05-Combo as blacklisted when the emulation detected screen appears - they still work fine with many titles (Dark Messiah, Scarface for example).

I do not own Blindwrite so I can´t test it by myself if the above given theory is correct (do not want to intall another emulation-thingy just to try out).

The uncut patch is a modified DLL? Send me the original 1.0 DLL, the uncut 1.0 DLL and the updated (1.1 and/or 1.2) DLL (zipped! see my E-mail address below). Apparently, the updated DLL's need to be modified in the same way as the original 1.0 was modified. (I don't have game, I won't be able to test the modifications...!)

he will probably modify the dlls by comparing the ones you send, and trying to find the same code / byte pattern within the new dll...
as for you doing it yourself.. if its a consistant byte pattern (possible), then you could probably do it, if its not or its slightly different then you need a little asm knowledge to do the modifications.. and if you dont have any knowledge of that/coding then its a job best left to joe...

To all those still trying: make sure you have THE LATEST daemon tools 4.08HE not 4.06

However, now I'm having a different problem. When I run the game it jsut shows an arrow with hourglass which dissapears after 10 second :confused:

I found a NO-DVD/NO-CD Crack by using the good old donkey, it works fine for me with 1.02 and by using the command /console I get shown the version number - which is 1.02 - so defintely this crack is working...

I was given the set of EXE's and DLL's of different game versions but, sorry, there's pretty much nothing in common in them: the DLL's between the cut and uncut releases of the same game version are very different. I now realized that the uncut release is not just a hacked modification of the original release (with a few changes here and there), but a different release!

BTW, does anyone know WHAT exactly the diff between the standard and the uncut versions is? I can see big hustle over the issue on German sites...

Ok, I'm not about to get a program to make an image, get DT and install it then get YASU and install it, then close down my internet connection and then PERHAPS it will work... not when I can just use the DVD. I was asking for a simpler solution so I could put away the disc. But thank you, for the replies.

I can't think of any other reason why I cannot run the game twice in a row. Strange, though I tried SINGLE PLAYER only, yet Zonealarm pops up a question whether I want to block mm's access to the internet. If I block it, there is no problem (don't have to unplug IDE drives etc, YASU alone is enough). If I don't, there's activity on my network (for the blink of an eye) then SecuROM is back in place again... that's all I experienced.

A temporarily link. Played about an hour. Seems fine.The optimizations introduced in v.1.02 patch are certainly there. I have an older system and checked on that one. The performance drastically improved.

This is the same cracked exe that I and Hody posted in page 21, check my post #309. It has the same size, CRC32 and MD5 checksums with the cracked exe I provided. I also made posts with rapidshare links but the posts are deleted. And I got a big warning.

EMPiRE explains why at his post #310

If this exe is accepted then the warning to me, should be removed.

The EXE posted by Hody, duffyduck and wolfsrain is the DEMO EXE as EMPiRE has stated, it's not a proper 1.02 crack! Any patch changes noticed will be due to DATA/SCRIPT files being updated with fixes, not a result of the EXE.

Seeing as it's a DEMO EXE it could still be buggy and cause the game to crash or or have other problems, just because no one has reported anything on here doesn't mean it's 100% working.

I am almost to the end of the game and I haven't ran into any problems. I don't understand this crack as I used the demo .exe previously and it wouldn't work with 1.02....I found this crack on another site and it worked....I don't care that it is demo.exe...all I know is that it is working and I don't have to run an image or put the dvd in...Also when I hit the "~" key durning the game it says 1.02 version.

problem solved with the nocd patch for the demo version. i am in chapter 3 and everything are all right

download the no cd patch for the demo version. just Overwrite the mm.exe and everything will be fine. it worked for me

do you realize that its wrong to replace an updated v1.02 exe with an old unpatched undated demo pre v1.0 exe? now you cant enjoy fixes or optimizations. its ridiculous to do that, its better to update to v1.01 and crackit with craked exe from gcw.

Do we know for certain that there are any actual changes to the .exe caused by the various patches? By this I mean, any gameplay changes and not just protection changes.

The reason I ask is that the people playing with the old .exe, don't seem to be noticing, or missing, anything.

No we do not know the changes in the exe, as we don't have source code. We do have the 1.02 general changes. Most likely there are some changes (even minor) in 1.02 retail exe, regarded 1.01 retail exe. Between 1.0 and 1.02 retail exes there are possibly significant changes.

But between 1.0 demo exe and 1.0 retail exe are definitely major changes. So between 1.0 demo exe and 1.02 retail there are also major changes.

Stop discussing about this. If you want to use 1.0 demo exe, use it at your own risk and don't ask questions about it.

I'm sorry, but who are you to decide what we should and shouldn't discuss and why shouldn't we ask questions?

My question was a perfectly simple and pertinent one, and you don't need source code to determine whether something has been changed in an executable. Anyone who had used the demo exe and compared it to the 1.02 one, could have determined that.

In any regard, I was more wondering whether there were changes between the first and second patch, more than anything to do with the demo patch which I wouldn't use anyway.

This is the same cracked exe that I and Hody posted in page 21, check my post #309. It has the same size, CRC32 and MD5 checksums with the cracked exe I provided. I also made posts with rapidshare links but the posts are deleted. And I got a big warning.

EMPiRE explains why at his post #310

If this exe is accepted then the warning to me, should be removed.

if you read my post I already made a rapishare link for the demo exe, but the admin deleted my post and gave me a warning. next time before you reply to a post read it carefully. I tried to help and got a big warning.

as for the rest if you have the original game then play with the dvd or use the demo exe.

Rules are rules and we have to obey to them if we want to be a part of fileforums.com community

At least I play with my original DVD.

I think you have to hit a couple of times the retry button. If you update the daemon-tools drivers (available at http://www.duplexsecure.com/en/downloads ) chances are getting pretty good for the YASU to work properly.
Also YASU 1.10 is about to come out.
And I agree with WardoggOne: too much of a hassle with all the antiblacklisters and c.ap. I'm using my disk in the unit and this is it. It's like Starforce strikes back. So back to the DVD again. Oh, joy!!!

Hatred 1.02 crack doesn't work under Vista x86 - DLL error during start-up and crash to desktop. I even reinstalled the game - just in case. No go.

Hi guys I'm new, and I thought that you can solve a problem that I've encountered with this game.
When I try to install it (from the autorun or from the setup.exe) after the installshield complete his green bar, an error message appears, and it says that the dll um can't be loaded and the setup will be finished.
I'm very angry because I tried to install the game on my laptop and it was installed perfectly.
Can you help me to solve this problem? Thanks for the help
