Alternate PC drive

Just a little FYI, The Samsung SH-D163A and TS-H353A drives now have hacked firmware similar to the *rare (in some areas) SH-D162C drive.

This is good news for those who want to backup via their PC DVD-rom, but could not find the SH-D162C drive.

Does this mean if I have that PC Drive in my computer, then I can just update my firmware on the PC Drive and then backup my games....?

Yes, you can create an iso image of the disk via the PC.

But you may need to hook up your 360 drive at least once to get the dvd drive keys needed to patch the disk. I do not know what they are used for or if they are needed.
