Hail

I'm testing my new vga NVidia GeForce 6800 XT, but still having a little problem.

The game looks about the sshot below (Game Half Lile - Lost Coast, with a brow background instead the sky), but when I try a "alt + tab" and work with the desktop, and back to the game, all works fine...

Anybody knows this issue?

Windows XP SP2, last driver, last directx, blá blá.. =)

Thanks a lot! =*

You might want to try the NOT LATEST drivers, from the "previous drivers" subpage of nVidia... It helped me a few times! ;)

Also, 2D may never see issues (desktop) while your 3D functions will.
This is normal for hardware failures as well.

First thing is first: Do you have issues in other 3D games?

If yes it may be hardware.. if no it is likely software, Half-Life 2 was developed mainly for the ATI hardware so, don't expect the Nvidia drivers to play nicely. As Joe suggessted a driver Rollback is often needed for Nvidia & ATI alike.

Valve likely has a recommended driver version, I would stick with that and also remember that the Loast Coast isn't a fully function game, but just a showcase of the features of "Source". So I wouldn't worry to much about it :)

I beat the Loast Coast in about 6min.. Episode One in about 3.5 hours. :(

You aren't missing too much.

Even if HL2 was mainly developed for ATI hardware it won't work on nVidia. I've been playing all HL games on my 7800GT without any problems ever.

If a developer would make sure the game only worked on one brand they would loose too much money you know...

Recommendation:
Test other games, see if problem exist there too
Roll back to driver version 84.xx or similar.

Sorry for @!

It's my failt, my motherboard is hybrid (agp + pci-e) and the pci-e runs 16x cards, but in pci-e 4x mode!

I changed my card for a with AGP interface, and it's working nice! ^^

Thanks, and sorry again! XD
