The game obscure

Hi I'm new here so I am not sure whether I'm posting my question where it should be. I've bought the game obscure a week ago, legal and with it's s/n to play it. I can't work out this, I can install the game perfectly, but when I put the code from the game when asked for it, it comes up after checking that it cant find my cd, but when I check the icon of the game clearly shows that the cd is in fact there. My question is, after several times of installing and unintalling it (no mention the headaches!), what is going wrong here? My pc has the asked requirements, checked those first, even got on to look on its official site, where I can say theres nothing there to help me out, so I'm at a loss really. I do like to see it working since I've paid enough for it, maybe one of you could help me out? :confused:

What exactly is the message you're getting ? The game is protected with Starforce 3, and that can cause a whole lot of different problems. When you enter the cd key, does there appear a progress bar or does it directly display the error message ? Did the game ask to be rebooted after the first install ? Starforce wants to install its own drivers or it won't work.

There are a lot of people like you who bought a Starforce-protected game and then find out they can't run it. One way to deal with that is using a crack like this one (http://m0004.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_obscure.shtml), but you may have to install the 1.1 patch first (your store version may/may not already contain this patch).

I am aware of the fact that usually you can ask for help or support on their official sites of game makers, I didnt find any forum or support on their site however. The problem is still there, it installs fine, then asks if youd like to play it, so clicking away, and then youll need to put the serial in that comes with the game, Ive done that, it seems to check then, and then it comes up with the message that it cant find the cd in the drive even after rebooting the pc, the cd is clearly in the drive. This game does my head in I tell you, other games like Silent hill 4 I have no probs with, only this game doesn't seem to want to run, and I cant figure out what the prob is. I'm glad however that I found this forum, after looking for ages for any kind of help online. dont know what to do if it is SF that messes it up.

:D Thanks for the advice, Ive downloaded it from the link, installed the game again, done the instructions, and the game is running fine. thanks a lot for helping me with this prob!
