I really need some help, please... I mean, I'm not lazy, I've burn almost 20 Coasters already.... I think I've basically tried every method here.
The only thing I was able to burn was the boot disc. Because the boot disc was simple. It was small, it only has 1 track. It worked great. I burnt it with D.J 2.0 and it was awesome.
I was so freakin happy until the next day.
I was able to get my hands on a release from Echlon. They were Silent Scope and King of Fighters Evolution.
I heard Silent Scope might have problems and it's not easy to burn, so I used the Kof Evolution image to do my burn tests.
Notice that the game was released by Echlon, I assume that the game is already patched and it's a ready to play self boot game.
I am a lamer when it comes to burning DC games but I ain't no lamer when it comes to getting warez. Basically, I got all my RAR files and everythign right, no CRC errors, everything went smoothly for the download and extracting part. So let's not worry about that.
I got the Image. the kof image file that ends with .cdi. which is for Disk Juggler.
So I pop-in a Empty disc. Start burning. Then I get this stupid message saying dummy blocks added. So I ignored it like Igotshit666 said. [yes, ofcourse I've read big papa and igotshit's posts.] But my burns were not reconized both by windows or my dreamcast.
To make sure everything is ok I double checked my Asus scsi card and my YAMAHA CDR100 4x burner. They were both ok. I mean, I could burn regular things on my harddrive. Like Mp3s and zip files. No problem on that. So my burner is working fine. No problems.
I'm using some crappy Silver CD but I've been using these CDs for a long time and they all work great for both my reader and burner. So I didn't think I need to switch. But anyways, I went out and got myself a box of Acer 80Min CDs just incase.
After being so devastated about Disc Juggler, I went and try using cdi2nero to convert to a NRG image. And try to burn it that way.
The darn thing tells me it's only 6min file when I checked outside in windows it clearly shows it's a 720meg image file.
I gave up on Nero, I went to CDIRip -> CDRWin Method.
I successfully ripped the guts out of that image. I got a Cue file, a Wav. file and an ISO file. I looked into the cue file like Papa said with a note pad. I dind't understand it at first but after all that coasters I've burn, I've learn something. All these self boots have 2 tracks. The first track is a small 300sector audio track and then follows by a huge data track. I assume that the small audio track is the self boot device and the huge data track is the game itself?
Anyways, Igotshit666 said that not to burn if I don't get the "Open Session" box on CDRWin, but I was so devastated, so I tried anyways. he was write, the dumbass that I am. i made another coaster. I actually grabbed this Coaster and bend it in half. It wasn't easy and it cracked and splashed the piece everywhere.
I was already going a little nuts at that time. That was about the 12th Coaster I've made.
At this point I notice something. Now that I know for sure that self boot games all have 2 tracks and 1 session. Now I know why Nero wants to burn a 6 min session. Get this: When I used CDIRip to extract the stuff in the .cdi image. I got 3 files right?
It was a .CUE file.
a .WAV file.
and a .ISO File.
I looked into the .CUE file.
Look at what I found.

FILE TAUDIO01.WAV WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00

According to big papa's post, this looks nothing like a working cue file. Notice that this only contains the parameter for the audio track, but where's the parameter for the DATA track?? [meaning the huge .iso file.]
This part I never figured out why.
