i want to put a modchip into my xbox, but i need to find out what version my box is, ive looked at xbox scene and other sites and im using the serial method but my week of production isnt on any of the sites, it is week 33 of 2003, does this mean iwill have to open my box to find out, only i dont have the screwdrivers xbox-scene says you need please reply asap so i can order my modchip before the place closes for new year

It doesn't matter what version your Xbox is as all new modchips are compatible with all Xboxes v1.0-v1.6. The only thing you have to worry about it the bios that you stick on it.

You will need a size T20 and T10 torx screwdrivers to open the Xbox, you'll need them sooner or later.

By the date, I'd say you have either a v1.2/v1.3. One of my Xboxes is a 1.4 and it was made in early 2004.
