How do you use Protection ID?? :(

hi guys,
i've just downloaded Protection ID 5.0 final C. Now the thing is i havent used it before. BTW, i am trying creat a backup of Quake 4 CDrom version. Anyways so what happens is, i start the software (protection id) and the new window has buttons in the right side. The buttons say:
scan
multi scan
about
quit

And on the left side it has checkboxes that says,
context menus
scan files >20mb
agressive scan
smart scan

The last two is checked by default.
Any ways, so i clicked scan and it tells me to "select file". I thought it was gonna scan the whole disc !! Whatever, so i go to the cd rom and select the setup.exe file. it scans the file, and says, that "the file is using no or unknown protection". I have tried some ohter files aswell. but same thing.
SO i went to alcohol120% to proceed wtih the copying wihtout selecting what protection the disc is using. Obviously, it gave me an eror and stopped. DUH!!
So i NEED to know what protection it is using, and it seems like im not knowing how to use protection ID.
SO CAN ANYONE PLEAS HELP ME??? like tell me what i need to do, what i might be missing or or any other easier way to do it. :) :) :)

Its not hard. Install the game and then scan the exe with protection id.

The game has Standard Safedisc 4.6 with an online check btw.

yes it is . jsut go to gamecopyworld.com. After u enter the site, On the right of the screen, click "Backup Protected CDs" over there, it gives the instruction of how to make backups. Now whenever it mentions the name of the software, u will notice it is a link. and thats the link to download it. :)

thanks for the protection type. in alcohol120 i selected that protection and it worked. Thanks.
however i still couldnt get protection id to tell that to me. U said to scan the exe file. well, thats what i did. i didnt even insert the cd in and scanned the exe fiel that is on my desktop (that is the installed exe, right?). That didnt work. On the protection line it says "cd key". it doesnt say the type of protection.
So i tried with the cd in this time, and chose the exe file INSIDE the cd. same thing.
Did i do it wrong, or, idunno, what do u make of that..????? :) :) :)

I dunno, should work lol. I dont have the DVD (I'm to lazy to go searching for it) to install the game and check. If you want to find the protection type of a game, just go to:

Each game page on GCW shows the protection. On the Quake 4 (http://m1010.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_quake_4.shtml) crack page, just above the 'Index' you will see it. ;)
