Hey guyz... long time no see, eh?

I have a question, and I know I'm gonna get shot down for asking.... but...
can you use a USB Thumbdrive on a PLaystation2 as a memory card? The ps2 has usb ports on it, but dunno if it will support a usb thumbdrive... just curious...

You can store gamesaves on a thumbdrive via codebreaker/action replay max but you can't at this time access it in game or via the browser. The PS2 won't recognize it. You can also update your codebreaker with new codes and such using a thumbdrive. Hope this helps.

orion731 is correct

There are also homebrew apps like ULaunchELF that can utilize the mass storage devices for file management. There is also a homebrew app called MC Manger that will allow you to manager your game saves in much the same way codebreaker does. Also the new mod chips are starting to utilize the mass devices. The CC teams new Boot Manager can access the mass and so does Toxic's new bios for the DMS4/SE. But as far as using the mass as a memory card its self this will most likely never happen.

Hi everyone I also have a Sony microvault thumbdrive and use Action reply max however my playstation 2 shows it see the drive but I can't save any saves to it from my memory cards. I have asked the power to be at Action replay but they say they can only help me if I have bought an original Action replay max drive usb thumbdrive. Any ideas or do I maybe have a faulty maxdrive programme. The microvault drive works ok on my computer. Would love to hear from anyone with ideas
Cheers

Some thumb drives simply dont work with the PS2. From what I have heard the most compatible thumb drives for the PS2 are made by Sandisk.

hmmmm Interesting... Maybe Action Replay max makes it so you have to use their product for it to work. I've tried at least 3 different thumb drives with my codebreaker and all seem to work. If something does go strange, a simple format will fix.

I think it has more to do with the PS2 its self then any software.
