Just thought i'd let you all know if that is anyone is interested that the new ATI Catalyst Drivers have been released. Seem s to have made Battlefield 2 run slightly faster and smoother on the old tinternet

lol i'm still using 3.9 and never had any problems except Brothers in Arms 2, i'll probably get the new ones... especially for smoother gameplay at all :D

3.9, wow. These drivers will give you a big increase in smoothness and frames lol. THere was a pretty big jump in performance from the 3.x to the 4.x series. Not so much to the 5.x though.
Anyways, I have to go back to 5.8. The ATI mobility drivers don't support 16:10 resolution. Beats me why, I mean, the older ones did.

Use Omega Drivers instead. They are modded so that they support all ATi cards, including the mobility series. They also most often supports custom resolutions for widescreen, some strange notebook resolutions and you name it... :P

Actually, the Omega and the HD ModTool'd modded desktop driver don't work. http://www.fileforums.com/images/smilies/frown.gif believe me, I tried am all.
There is a problem with the driver somewhere, it works for some but not for others. The reason hasn't been found yet.
