Any one know if this flight sim will run with an AMD athlon XP 2400+,MMX, 3DNow, 2.ghz. DirectX 9.0c, 1GB Ram , 128 mb Radeon 9200 SE AGP(0x5964) cause it just keeps asking me to "insert original disk in drive" and wont allow me in. :o

Are you using the original disc or a NoCD crack?

I'm using the original CD, Brand new, bought from a retailer yesterday.

The reason for the original question is that on the box it says system requirements are PentiumIII 800mhz - but I didn't notice until I had got it home. I thought it said PentiumII 800mhz :(

To be honest I dont know much about the AMD machines as I have always owned Intel machines but I cant see your system being the reason for the "Insert original Disc" message?
Go here (http://m0162.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_battle_of_britain_2.shtml) and you will find a NoCD crack for your game. Try it and see if it will get you past the CD Check. ;)

that AMD system is equal to a Pen 4 2.4 533 setup

your system should have no problems running B.O.B.

That doesnt equal that at all.

AMD chips will outclass high end P4's. Its well documented on several sites.

a 2400+ is supposed to be a pen4 2.4 ghz setup

thats what 2400+ means

same as a 3500+ that means it should be equal to a pen4 3.5 (granted they don't make a pen4 3.5) but thats what it should equal out to

as far as outclassing Intel

when it comes to doing mulitple tasks at hand...Intel is better

for gaming AMD is better

both have there positives and negatives

Having never used this site before, I can honestly say that I'm thoroughly impressed and thankful to all of you for taking the time to help me. Grumpie, I'll try that NoCD crack and let you know how I get on.
Thanks to you all.

A 2800+ XP runs at 2100. An AMD3000 64bit runs at 2000.

A P4 2800 runs at 2800.

Dab, it runs at 2.1 AMD MEASURE, thats why they name it 2800 because it runs at 2.8 intel measure.

Another one wrong :p
It actually refers to the speed relationship to one of the original Athalon chips, so 1800+ is 1.8x the speed of the original chip & so on. The numbers have NOTHING TO DO with either ghz speed or the relationship to P4 speed.

Cheers

thats what i was trying to get at...i never said that a 3500+was a 3.5 ghz

but AMD's numbers are supposed to be equal to pen4 ghz numbers..hence

a 3200+ is supposed to be equal to a 3.2ghz pen 4
