How can i play the emulators on psp v 2.0?

Simple answer: NO!
In 2.0 there's an encryption surrounding the firmware which needs to be hacked in order for any homebrew/emulators/loaders to work. No one (yet!) has managed to break the encryption so if you have updated the firmware to 2.0 then you just have to wait. If your firmware is v1.5 or lower then you can play with homebrew/emulators/loaders.
Currently theres a team working on a piece of software that temporarily downrades the firmware from 1.5x or 2.0 back down to 1.5. This is the most promising looking solution at the moment but hasn't been released yet.

i bought GTA Liberty City Stories the other day, after i downgraded to 1.5 to use the homebrews. but now it says i have to upgrade to play it. is there a way to play it without upgrading and loosing my homebrews?

well there is some good news...some people out there have hacked the firmware v2.0 so now its just a matter of time before they start releasing it and make homebrew apps as well. and if it goes to plan..then we can all play gta....wooohoo!!!

There is a way....I am currently running 2.0 firmware and playing homebrew with out having to downgrade. There is an eboot loader for the 2.0 firmware. Go to www.pspupdates.com. In the forums section, under homebrew/development there is a sticky that explains this method and what you'll need. It currently runs only a handful of homebrew but it still allows me to play my NES and SNES on my PSP. Any Kernal based homebrew isn't supported yet, such as UMD Loaders. Hope this helps.

No it can't....that's a limitation so far. Anything that runs in the PSP's kernal memory or whatever can't be run at this time. However the downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 isn't a very difficult process. I've been back and forth from 1.5 to 2.0 a couple times but I like to keep it on 2.0 for the browser and GTA. I'll worry about running Fast Loader .7 when they figure out better methods.
To all PSP users....don't upgrade past 2.0 (example 2.1 or 2.5) or you will AT THIS TIME have no way to play emulators/homebrew or downgrade on your PSP's.

I was the same way, I put off upgrading until I had to. However now that I own GTA it's almost a no brainer what firmware I was going to use. Especially now that I can play Mario on 2.0. :)
