Civilization 3 1.29f GERMAN Crack?

Hey,

I know the game is quite old by now but I still can't find a german crack for version 1.29f (4 plain civ 3, no PTW or Conquests) that actually works.
The cracks for the english version don't work b/c of the different folder and file names in the german version.

Or is there any other way to be able to start the game without the cd? I'm using a mini-image for bf2 - is there anything like that for Civ3 too?

No, doesn't work. But thanks anyway.

Though I can start the game now. The menu is in english (which is quite bizarre) but when I start a new game it disrupts with an error like this: "Error file reading - "...Arts\Units\Settler\Settler.ini" which is obvisouly b/c in the german version settler.ini is siedler.ini.

So I guess I need a crack specific for the german version or something to get around the disc-check otherwise.

Hi, i have the German version of CIV 3 and the English one of Conquests and i had the same error with settler.ini. After googleing i found this site, that solves that problem, hope that you do speak german...

What protection does the German version use? If it uses Safedisc <2.6 then you can use one of the Safedisc unwrappers to try and see if you can make a NoCD yourself!

I know the US 1.29f patch had Safedisc 2.60.52 and can be unwrapped using SafeDisc Cleaner, however it needs further editing to remove the CD Check! Hopefully the German version can at least be unwrapped.

Found the 1.29f German version and it's wrapped with Laserlock :( Not much chance it will ever be cracked unless the old utility UnLaserlock will work?

@EMPiRE: The 1.29f crack is for the 'Play the World' expansion, he wants the German 1.29f patch for the original Civ3!

@BarryB: Just checked the archive and it does not say it is for PTW and the exe is called: Civilization3.exe (PTW has a Civilization3X.exe EXE), so it could just be a mislabeling @ GameFix

@EMPiRE: I'm still suspicious :) The German version is Laserlock protected, that EXE you've pointed to is a Safedisc Cleaned EXE which has then been packed with ASPACK, why pack it with ASPACK unless to hide something :) So I think it's the English version renamed OR it could have been patched to work on the German version?

Until Harmakhis tries it we'll just be speculating ;)
