Yep i searched 1st. Im just re-playing through Vietcong (retail 1st game) and am having some trouble getting the v1.60 devience fixed exe to work. Game runs fine with original disk. Obviously i have updated game to v1.60 and tried using the v1.60 fixed exe but game wont launch with it (asking for disk 1). If i use a lower version fixed exe the game runs but obviously not all (if any) of the updates take effect. Anyone else had trouble with the v1.60 fixed exe by devience ? I know the v1.60 is for Vietcong first Alpa but it should work with the 1st game. Is there another v1.60 fixed exe for Vietcong by another group as i seem to be having trouble with the devience one and if so where ??. Thanks ppl :o

I was using the V1.60 NoCD crack some months ago and it was working fine.
But i had First Alpha installed.

(Can't check it again, because i don't have this game anymore.)

I wonder if first Alpa was installed what would happen then ? If it would work for me also. It should (if im correct) run fine with out first Alpa being installed.
Was it the Devience v1.60 fixed exe you were using GLH or do you not remember ?. Mabey the Devience fixed exe is ....dare i say it..... Faulty ? :eek: (having said that though i cant imagine it being faulty as i have had no trouble @ all with any other Devience releases ever and ive used many over the years).

Has anyone played Vietcong v1.60 with the Devience fixed exe ?? (without first alpa being installed). At least then i will know i am correct when i assume it should run vietcong with or without first alpa being installed. Thanks again ppl

My guess is that the fixed .exe is for version 1.60 with First Alpha installed and that version only.

Because, if I am not totally mistaken of course, version 1.60 is an update that is supplied with Fist Alpha... or?

I think you may find its 'Fist' Alpha, not 'First' Alpha. ;)

Was it the Devience v1.60 fixed exe you were using GLH or do you not remember ?It was a crack from GameCopyWorld. Because of there is only one crack for V1.60 on GCW, it was the DEViANCE crack.

After re-reading the question i asked you it was obvious which crack you used. (due to the reasons you pointed out yourself and checking the crack index here @ GCW). Seems i was not compleatly thinking straight when i posted my original message asking which devience crack you used when as you stated theres only the one for v1.60. :rolleyes:

@ kosmiq From what i have been able to find out about the v1.60 fist Alpa fixed exe working with the original retail release of Vietcong (once patched to version 1.60 obviously) Is that the First Alpa v1.60 fixed exe by Devience should work with Vietcong regardless weather Fist Alpa is installed or not as long as Vietcong is patched to v1.60. That is what i have been able to find out on the WWW from various different places.

Again i ask all who read this thread if they are able to (or have in the past) played vietcong patched to v1.60 using the Devience v1.60 Fist Alpa fixed exe without having Fist Alpa installed.

Some months ago I used the DEVIANCE crack for version 1.60 without having the Add On "Fist Alpha" installed and it worked perfectly! With Vietcong cracks of some previous versions I had some problems because they did not work correctly. There was a bug, where I suddenly lost control over the player model and it was running back and to the sites, although I was NOT pushing any button on the keyboard or mouse!!!
But with version 1.60 (DEVIANCE crack) I didn't have any problems!

I haven't reinstalled the game since some months but last time I played it with the deviance crack and I didn't have any problem with it, the only problem I noticed was that the perfomance was slow but I put sound acceleration on basic and the game worked fine then
