Hi i just bought a xecuter 2.6 and i installed it on my xbox which could not boot any dashboard as i f---ed up a softmod and deleted everything, anywho, i installed this chip and now i get a error code of 16 which is a dash error i believe but i mean even with the chip enabled it does this too,is the xecuter 2.6 flashed with a bios or whatnot cause with the chip in i dont need the hard drive at all right, and i had someone look over all soldering points and said they are good but ive just about had it or whatnot so any any help at all would not go overlooked, i know i need to repair my dash, or do i?thanks btw i have a version 1.6 :(
First make sure that you have installed a hacked bios onto the chip. Without a hacked bios you will not be able to run any homebrew apps or anything.
Use any Autoinstaller disc (like SlaYers or Autoinstaller Deluxe 2.11) and make a new install with a new dash and updated MS Dash.

hey bro thanks for the response, i downloaded slayers auto installer 2.6 and burned it to a cdr but it still boots to error code 16,sorry kinda just learnin but ive been readin everywhere possible, and will the slayers thing flash the bios?
Also, how do i install the dash if all i can boot to is an error code? sorry, heres what i got: a laptop, action replay,007,MA,the chip and like i said i deleted the whole retail drive but i got aa 80g wd that i believe will work.Think i should use a dvd-r or a cdrw instead?and does it sound like the d0 is not soldered right thanks sorry
Error 16 is dashboard related, meaning that some file in the dashboard is bad. Probably clock.xip or similar.
Anyway SlaYers Autoinstaller will fix that when doing a reinstall.
But to help with the mest urgent problem, to flash the chip take a look here:

That works for Xecuter 2.6 and up... :)
Unfortunately I can not give you direct support on how to find bios's and similar but a good start would be to google on "xbins" and then make a search in www.xbox-scene.com forum... Or you could download a program called Qwix (or Craxtion, does not really matter) and unpack SlaYers disc...
To make sure nothing bad happens: Make sure you use a 1.6 supporting bios. A good choice would be EvoX M8Plus as it supports both the 1.6 and the 1.6b...
Good luck... :)
