Help with HalfLife 2, I know old news, help still needed

I have a friend that wants to buy a copy of Halflife 2. But, the activiation has to be on line. He does not have an internet connection at home. Is there a patch or file that gets around the internet check. He wants a legal copy, but just does not have the internet. Helpw with this is greatly appreciated. First of all, yes there are files which circumvent online activation, but I won't tell you where to find them, cos I doubt that this is allowed here !
Secondly, it isn't a simple online check, it is an online activation.

He could take his computer with him when he visits you next time and activate it through your connection. Then, when he is back at home he could use the offline mode ;)

The system requirement are clear. You need an internet connection to activate the game.
If he don't have internet, he shouldn't buy the game !!!

Im gonna have to disagree with you for once GLH, it says Internet Connection Required *but does not say online activation required*


This caused a huge uproar, as people thought the Internet Conn. was for CS:S.

There are a lot of no cd patches and things of this nature. There are and has been many ways around the Internet connection. My friend likes the game and if he could "GET" cable internet where he is a at he would!!! I just have had good experiences here and thought I could get some help for a friend.

He could as said use your connection to activate it then play it on offline mode at his home.
