Just curious to know your opinions? It will be one I will see regardless! I get into any movie which has good special effects. Even though I do believe it will be something similiar to the 2nd Aliens movie!
You can find the movie trailer here (http://media.filmforce.ign.com/media/490/490104/vids_1.html). ;)

The trailer really did disappoint me, and if the trailer sucks it can't be a good sign... But I am going to see it anyway and hope for the best.

What about the 2nd alien movie? It pwns... ;)
Or maybe you meant it will be about the same thing...

What I meant by my reference to Aliens 2 (well really its just called 'Aliens') is because I believe the Doom movie will be another action movie just like Aliens. Whereas the first 'Alien' movie was more of a suspense movie. Alien was an excellent movie and Aliens was just alright!. ;)

The crappy thing about the movie is that they took out the whole HELL element for the sake of controversy.. Instead of all the monsters coming from hell its a freaking virus. So basically it's going to be resident evil with monsters instead of zombies.. Call me crazy.. But Doom IS supposed to be HELL.. That's what set it apart.. I just can't get over that fact.. The movie DOOM is going to be DOOMED for all the fan boys and just people that know the story in general.. All because someone didn't wanna piss off holy rollers... Screw all that noise.. You're supposed to be 18 to buy the game anyway.. Anyone that has played it should be able to see it in the theaters.. Screw PG13 or whatever rating they're going for..

And yea the trailer was a let down.. I just hope the rock gets naked... what?

I don't think movies about games are so good....(Alone in the Dark  )
But games based on movies also aren't my favorite movies ;)
Most of them is just the cheapest crap to make some money with kids buying this sh*t...
Some good movie-based games are Chronicles of Ridd!ick, Brothers in Arms (based on Band of Brothers), LotR - Battle for middleearth & Star Wars Republic Commando... :)
I also heard about a movie based on FarCry...sounds interesting, we will see

They're planning on making a splinter cell movie.. It came up a long long while ago in discussion with directors and studios and what not.. but its been kicked around and passed from studio to studio and afterwards it was brushed under the rug. Joblo.com had a recent article that stated some production company was finally going to start serious planning on it.

For the main role they were looking for a really old guy.. Sean Connery or someone of that generation because Sam Fisher is so damn old.. But they figured Connery wasn't quite old enough.. So they decided to go with our very own file forums member and comedy sideshow extraordinaire: Grumpy!

Hahah .. just kidding Grumpster.. We all know you're too old for a serious role in an action movie.. Stick to depends comercials.

@Luciel,
LOL, no that would require to many hard stunts!! I would need a stunt double.

bah, no Hell in Doom? The movie will not be good. A virus seems more cliche'd than demons..I will probably watch it just to see how it compares to the game, but I won't expect anything that great from it.. I still can't believe that a Halo movie is also in the works. What a bunch of crap.

who here saw House of the Dead? the only part i liked in that movie was the titties... bad, BAD hollywood!
... just watched the trailer and thought it looked/felt exactly like resident evil, which is not bad, but not good either.

Haha.. Well the new trailer is up.. I really don't have any opinion on it.. it shows the first person shooter aspect.. My gaydar is going off a bit.. I dunno just seems a little cheesey.. But monsters look ok I guess.. check it out for yourselves..

"the rock doesn't turn out to be doom"????? wtf.. stop posting save yourself the humiliation. And yes to save you the trouble of replying, yes we know the main character wasn't The Rock. Everyone and their mother knew going in the rock was Sarge and the main character JOHN GRIMM was played by Karl Urban. Don't post negative view points while under the influence of ignorance.. It's not working for you.

Hmmm ok lets see... Who has several movies on IMDB top 30 worst movies? You know the name? One person that is: Uwe Boll... The one responsible for Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead and a lot of other cr*ppy movies.

To make it even worse take a look at the announced projects:
# Fear Effect (2008) (announced)
# Hunter: The Reckoning (2007) (announced)
# Postal (2007) (announced)
# Far Cry (2006) (announced)
# In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2006) (post-production)

Hmmm ok lets see... Dungeon Siege as a movie... Naaah.. Postal? WTF!, Hunter the Reckoning: one of the worst games ever IMO...

About the Halo movie... Microsoft will give it all money ever needed, Peter Jackson will help with directing and stuff... I think it has every possibility in the world to become the best game-inspired movie ever. Not that it is hard but still...

Doom? Haven't seen it yet. Not on theater over there yet AFAIK.

Let's not forget the highly anticipated HALO MOVIE!!11!1 Ok.. We can forget it.. It will no doubt be sad.

The only one I can be seeing as kinda cool would be the splinter cell movie.. They can usually do a decent jobs of making spy movies look good.. And Splinter cell is good source material.

And to the dude above I went off on, my appologies.. It was a bad day.

My friend watched it - he said that the movie is so stupid that he couldn't wait "the end" sign.

I enjoyed the movie personally , especially the 10 odd mins of first person mode near the end ;)

I finally saw it the other day.. It was pretty much what it was.. A video game movie more or less... Hard to turn something like a game into a movie.. In reversal its quite easy.. It was lame and ok at the same time.. Had its cheesey moments "Semper Fi!.... Mother F*****!" The 5 minutes or so of first person was kinda cool.. It reminded me of a haunted house kinda BOO!! thingy. I'm glad they didn't over do it on that angle.. All in all it was was it was.. It seems like they tried hard to take the rough edge of the "virus" story line off gamers by including the "virus only for evil people" thing. They gave it a good try.
