I recently installed the new BF2 patch and when i tried to run the game i got a black screen then it crashed right back to the desktop. I hope GameCopyWorld will have a fix for this soon!!!

If anyone has any information on how to fix this problem please reply!!!

I had the same, so I replaced the exe with the original and it works fine now, I'm also using the no DVD mini image to circumvent having to use the DVD.

I don't think the exe is changed as with some updates, therefore if the exe was replaced by the ver 1.0 crack, it won't work anymore.

As I say to people, some games use the exe as a loader for the proper game exe which could be hidden/encrypted in a dll file or other type of file.

For example.

C&C Generals was game.dat

So just because the exe wasnt touched doesnt mean the real one wasnt :P

Alright to all you people/newbs out there who dont no wtf your doing. Ok.
I had to reinstall the game to get the original exe file with bf2. Then I installed the new BF2 patch. Next i download the Battlefield 2 [ALL] No-CD/Fixed Image #2 and mounted it on a drive and ran the game everything went fine.

If you follow these steps you should be fine if.

Have Fun!!!

Well I never overwrite the original exe for this very reason, I rename it.
So maybe everyone can learn something here.

It's now official, the 1.01 patch have been drawn back. 1.02 are expected to come soon!

"Electronic Arts informed us that the Battlefield 2 1.01 update is causing memory leakage on some systems, therefore it is recommended that you reinstall the game without the v1.01 patch."
