Hi Guys

I am in need of your HELP!! Well I have a PS2 PAL SCPH 30003R, and I have a FAULT with my EJECT BUTTON:

1. It won't light up when you switch the PS2 on, The Power/Reset Button lights up but not the EJECT Button, also the Tray don't open

2. There is no picture on the screen even the Browser Menu, I would have thought the Browser Menu should display on my screen, I did notice the screen jumps when-ever I turn on/off the PS2 which may indicate the PS2 will only work once the eject button lights up.

Now what I was thinking was I need a new RIBBON, would you guys agree, I mean everything eles seems ok. Oh by the way it's chipped but I dont see any reason why the chip should effect the button, I noticed lots or tangles on the Ribbon cable it was folded like 3 times.

Can anyone please give me their honest and professional HELP on this matter because I really wanna play on my PS2 while I'm off work

Cheers.

Apprently NO

I asked the person whom I bought it from, he said the Eject button ejected fine. He used the swap mechanism. Then after a while the eject button didnt light up then he noticed the problem he says after 4 months installing the swap-chip.

Now I'm not to sure if the RIBBON is at fault or the chip inside that makes the eject button work or light up. I have ordered the Ribbon and I am keeping my fingers crossed for the good news.

Apprently you have to use a Regional X disc to run the chipped back-up copied games.

What bugs me is that there is 'NO PICTURE' I mean the Power button works fine and I still dont understand why the browser Menu doesn't apprear on the screen, you see with the Playstation 1 even if the spindle laser didnt work it would still show the Sony logo..maybe technology is imporoved/advanced if there is no signal there is no pitcure. (I dunno)

I'm really puzzeled shall I just get it done by a pro??? but what if he/she fix'z da problem and they turn around n say ' u need this part and this ' where-as maybe I just need the one. I need professional HELP! and Advise :o
