View Full Version : PS2 HDD problems
I recently stuck my hard drive back in my v10 PS2. I originally removed it as was getting annoyed with the lack of reset facility the hdd caused but have a few games i play regular so was gonna give it another whirl.
The problem is that nothing will install onto it.
I am using HDLoader and it detects and formats the hdd fine but anything original or backup i try and install it just hangs on the checking disc page.
As i said I had the same hdd installed before with no problems. Anyone come across this?
PS2 is modded with Matrix Infinity and f/w is 1.36.

Hmm thats odd. Dont know whats wrong but you can probably get around it by using Winhiip or some other program of the sort.
Tyler!
O.K. I took out hdd and stuck it in PC. Formatted it and checked it worked ok. Then took it out, put it back in ps2 and tried again.....Same thing. Am really confused about this as it worked fine before.
So on to alternatives....What alternative software is there to get games onto hdd apart from HDLoader.

I'm guessing you mean you don't want to hook your HD to your computer each time, you would rather install games from your PS2. You get a much faster transfer rate installing games on your HD via PC, just make an image with whatever program you want, (.gi, .nrg, .iso, .bin etc...) and use the Tyler advertised program WINHIIP or similar program (HDL_dumb) I use a External HD Enclosure so I don't have to open up the PC case each time.
Thanx m8. wicked util. Put ten sample games on an they all work no probs.
I see from the readme file that there is seven different compatibility modes. Does anyone know of a site that lists what game to what compatibility mode as I can only find lists that say "do work", "dont work". or is the compatibility mode down to version of ps2, mod chip used, hdd used etc.
Regards :)
