I have decided I am in a group of people with great knowledge, far more than I. Therefore, I am, once again asking for information.
What, in your opinions, is the best anti-virus and Firewall combinations? The reason I ask is this: I had bought something from ebay, somehow or another I was, for lack of better terms, hacked into. I presently have ZoneAlarm Pro, and Norton 2005, which I was told was a great combination to have. Any ideas for a mere minnow in a vast ocean?

nothing with norton can be good ^.^ ur firewall is good and i wont recommend u to change it (someone else might) as for anti virus, from my oppinion/expierence , either AVG or Kapersky :)

I only had trouble with _any_ Norton/Symantec software. I hate it.
For Antivirus I recommend Kaspersky AV. Its not the fastest scanner but it receives updates multiple times a day and detects about 99,99% of all viruses.
However it is not free.
A useable and free scanner is AntiVir from H+BEDV

For a firewall application I have BlackIce from Internet Security Systems (ISS).
But ZoneAlarm is an acceptable free alternative.

Yup! I do prefer Kapersky. ZoneAlarm isn't the best, but it is a choice...., I use it myself. I once used Kerio which I have still installed on a different pc.
NEVER, NEVER use Norton/Symantec products....they are not as reliable as others, but they trash your system, installing everywhere...even where they should not....

Anyway, "New Topic" really is an eye-catcher !! Good title for a thread.....

I don't use the free version of ZoneAlarm, free is good if you're poor, or too cheap to go all the way, hence I use the bought version. Kapersky I think is used in the CyberScrub anti-virus, do you recommend this one?
Basically I had theft identity, someone tried to get me for the tune of 2 grand, I am dumb to hacking so haven't quite understood how they got past my firewall.

Yap, agreed especially mcafee2005. It can't even deal with simple trojans.

Thanks to all for your replys, all advice is welcome. Didn't mean to go on a tangent with the Anti-virus. Thanks again, been a great help.
