View Full Version : HOW DO I TURN A SELF BOOTING DC GAME INTO NON SELF BOOTING GAME
THE REASON I'M ASKING IS THAT I CAN COPY NON SELF BOOTING GAMES NO PROBLEM. BUT WHEN I COPY SELF BOOTERS MY WRITER SEEMS TO BURN THE IMAGE OK BUT IT THE DISC WONT PLAY ON MY DC. THE DISC MAKES A BANGING NOISE WHEN I TRY TO RUN IT. WHEN I TRY TO CHECK THE DISC ON MY PC , MY READER OR WRITER CANT OPEN THE DISC, ANY HELP WOULD BE WELCOME .CHEERS.
BY THE WAY I USE CLONE 2.8.3.1, CLONE 1.0.2.4, CLONE 2.7.8.1 & DISC JUGGLER 3.0 AND HAVE TRIED VARIOUS MAKES AND SIZES OF DISCS.

try disk juggler v2
with these settings
make image of disk
ignore read errors
raw read
max image size 80 mins
when finished burn back the image and there you go copy of a copy and its self booting
ive done all my self booters this way if you really want to remove self boot ( #### i wouldnt ) mail me and ill tell you how its too long winded to post
Yeah definitely try using Disc Juggler. I use Version 3.x and I don't have any problem burning self booting games. It even states in Big Papa's help post that the only programs that can be used for burning self booting games are Disc Juggler, and PSXCOPY. So don't even try with CLONECD.

marky, you have a couple of options here
1) goto www.dcrequest.com technical forum and follow dirty girls guide for turning self booters into non self booters
or
2) take and image of the game that you want to back up with discjuggler, then find a patcher called cdi2nero (this will, in effect turn the discjuggler cdi image into a nero nrg image) and use it, then use nero to burn the image onto a cd. When you do this nero will bring up an error page, just click yes and continue burning.
I hope this is of help to you and if you can't find the cdi2nero patch let me know.

if your self-booting game is not CDDA try doing this
extract all the files of the cd and put them in an iso with this settings:
mode 1, cd-xa.
just in one sesion, and then try using it with the boot cd...
i hope this will work
