I have a sony DRU-700A dvd burner and I use the latest Clonedvd2 with their Anydvd to make backups, but I have a problem. The movies seems to burn w/o any problem but when I try to play them back on my DVD player in the bedroom it plays like 75% and then starts to freeze up. If I play the disc in my computer it plays fine.

Any ideas?

It sounds like a media issue.

Or the dvd player has problems reading copied discs.

More than likely its the media because cheaper media has fairly crappy results towards the end of the disc. If his standalone had problems it would have them throughout the movie. And remember that most burners have better reading statistics than standalones.

Not that I know anything technical about the subject, its just my dvd player [Goodmans GDVD157] won't playback Ritek DVD-R's, it'll get an hour into the movie then just screw up, bad blocks on the screen and eventually start skipping all over the movie, but was always fine for the first hour.

It played fine on the PC [Pioneer DVD-106 Slot, Plextor 12x] which was what made me believe the DVD Player was the one having problems, the same as the original poster.
