Someone told me that backups cause your DC to spin 4 times more...eventually causing a motor burn. Let me know fellas.
What have the rules got to do with asking this question?

well...i do notice the motor/laser head does take in abit more work when playing some backups...so resorting to abit of extra heat generated...but its nuffin the drive wasnt designed for anyway...cd drives will wear out every now and then...just a matter of chance =)
No They don't as long as u dummy your games..I have burnt over 200diferent titles and none have famaged my DC as yet..while I am on the topic i would like to give a BigUp to Utopia and Kalisto...Man u guys rock..keep the good work roling.

lol... MungoApe.. I think is not your dreamcast problem is your TV problem... gd-rom will eventually burn out anyways but playin copied games will speed up the process...
