Lately my cd burner has been giving me trouble, I think its starting to die.

I need a new cd burner, my current one is na Asus 5224a. I mainly bought this because it was one of the highest rated in being able to duplicate most pc-based copy protections.

I know its not possible to make a 1:1 copy of every game out there, but I want a good burner that will let me duplicate most of these protections on a burned disk. Can anyone recommend a good cd burner for me that can burn most pc cd protections avaliable out there?

Lite-on 52x writers seem pretty good to me and by several posts ive seen, they do to others too, and best of all, they arent that expensive compared to more well-known brands

Ummmm, id prefer if you gave me an actual model number instead of just recommending a brand. Not all models even of the same brand work.

There are some lists out there of some of the most perfect CD burners out there in terms of duplicating copy protection, but the lists are years old and almsot all of those burners are not found in stores anymore, I dont want to buy a used burner online.

So can anyone recommend one that they know is a good one for copy protections and is still sold in stores? (Or at a trusted online store in the USA)?

Hi Cyber Akuma,

As far as I remember, ASUS CD/DVD drives are, actually, made of LG, therefore, they _are_ very good for duplicating copy protected disks. If you need a list of product types, I think, there's a very complete list of them at CloneCD's (http://www.slysoft.com ) and Alcohol's (http://alcohol-software.com ) sites. Good luck,

Joe
