I installed a Matrix Infinity chip on a V4, I tested it & played my PS2 originals/backups fine. I gave it back to my friend and he says it stopped working. I have it back now and it wont play anything. All I get is RSOD for originals/backups and PSX games just come up with audio.

I opened it up and noticed my B connection had come loose. I reconnected it but still get RSOD for PS2 originals/backups.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, providing all your other connections are OK, you have to suspect laser failure. V4s had crap lasers you know. That's why most people just won't install in V4s any more... :(

Out of all the consoles would you say V4s had the worst lasers? Not including the newest gaystation 2. I had a V4 and it croaked when we attempted to mod it.. not sure if it was the laser or if we blew it up.

beacause they have the weakest cheapist laser head. Which cannot play many dvd-r or rw's

They all have crap lasers. Versions 5 thru 7 seem to be the best if thats what you want to call it. I dont install in anything older than a v5.
