ok, maybe stupid question, about the new dcs and cd-r deal (rumor?)

i looked for about 12 pages on this forum, and didnt get a real answer... is the thing about the new dc's not playing cd-r games just a rumor? sorry if this has been asked a lot, but I didnt see a recent one, will probably help more than just myself....so, either someone confirming that it is just a rumor, or someone that has bought a new dc (made recently, not just a new one that was made a while ago) and they have had no problems, thanks

first of all i bought a dc august i have had no problems its chipped and works fine any problems regarding backups email me

I just bought mine about a week ago.. (New box style) and it works fine with backups...
