Is it possible to replace the discdrive of an older ps2 with a discrive of a newer model. I have a bad working older ps2 scp390004 and a fried(motherboard) new one (v10). Thanx

put just the laser unit not whole drive unit from the v10 into the v7 far as i remember this works

Thanx for the tip...but isn't the drive exactly the same
