Well, it seems that banned eeproms are not banned anymore. So you might be live enabled again (if you still want to). But if you have upgraded your HDD, there might be an even worse problem.

They are banning HDD keys. Well, I am glad I have 3 spare hdd's. If you have been banned, you need a valid xbox hdd key, you need to edit the eeprom with the new key, and you should be set. That artical was stating how old eeproms are no longer banned :? .

I however have an upgraded HDD and have not been banned at all. I have been playing for hours a day. So I guess we will have to wait a little to find the exact problem.

 Damn thats scary.. I've been doing Halo2 for awhile .. I haven't been banned yet.. Damn that sucks... Think I'll stick to XBC until someone can clarify on that..

Is this only if you sign on with a Mod chip active or any system running normally with an ugraded drive?.. Goes off to read the article.

I don't know. I have an upgraded drive, and I can still sign in with my chip off fine. So there has to be a little more to it.

They said something about the HDD key, maybe when I upgraded, evox changed my hdd key to the same as the original. Who knows

Well I just got banned today (11-21).. Just signed on with my retail Halo 2 disc. Mod chip in off mode. Got good and banned. So the HDD Key banning is legit.. Watch out fellas.

Yea.. I've been reading other boards.. I guess its random.. Until they ban everyone in existence.. Now my problem is what to tell MS when I call to cancel my Live subscription..

they just do that for surveys. You can just say that you no longer have cable or something.

I still have my retail Xbox Hardrive but have it loaded with software (xbmc, emulators, etc.), Is it possible that I could get banned?

No ones sure yet what exactly MS is checking.. They said the best possible approach would to be using a retail drive without any modificaitons at all.. Including homebrew and things of that nature. I had homebrew, my backups, and other software on the box.. So god knows what they didn't see on mine.

It still hasn't been pinpointed yet.. But it took me awhile to get banned.. So they may be looking at users randomly. Just because you haven't been banned yet doesn't mean you can't be.
