Yeah no doubt, Ive had absolutely no problems with it. And my pc seems to be runnin just fine. I wonder if this has to do with PC gaming, since I rarely use my pc to play games on I wouldnt know.

I think this is the site/article you should read before installing SP2.
Then make up your own mind.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2
The information in this article applies to:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (SP2
-------------------------------------------------------------
This site is an interesting read as well.

And this site should be viewed as well

I must also add, every bit of advice I have read that 'TylerDurden' has given out has been very helpful and correct! So I certainly dont doubt him. :)

been using it for like a month without any problems...well, none that I've noticed anyways.
As long as you don't use many connections, don't mind having a crappy firewall (to turn off because its useless all new viruses/trojans/worms automaticly disable it or workaround it anyway) a few broken programs most are fixed by now, oh and don't forget if you get infected by a high connection attempt per second propogating worm (almost any of them) your computer will cease to be able to use the internet normally (because windows throttles the connections from the worm so ligitimate connections won't get through in a very long time) this will prevent updating of virus definitions to remove the worm, as well as stopping you from getting updates to stop the worm from instantly infecting you again. You think windows sp2 is secure, thats rediculas, the firewall can be turned off in the virus/trojan/worm you were infected with before it beforms its connections (and all new ones do realizing most people don't turn it off) or simply use internet explorers exsisting connections to bypass the firewall. The new exploits are commonly being used with shellcode that bypasses the firewall to either open a port or download a file.
Anyway i was saying if you don't mind all ^that then by all means use sp2, its got no new security that is anything more then superficial, and if you are infected it prevents you from fixing it. (oh by the way make sure your all updated (with post sp1 sec updates) or else you could be infected by looking a a .jpg new buffer overflow in windows gdi handling god microsoft is stupid now pictures arn't even safe.)
If you install it right now you probably won't notice a difference except the superficial security features. But your screwed when the next worm hits.
Thanks for all that 'SCVirus'! It really helps me to feel that I am doing the right thing by not installing it! Like I have said, I have read many bad reports about SP2 and I DO NOT plan to go down that path! I am one who likes to wait 4-6 months before installing any off the major Microsoft updates! ;)
same ere, i rather pass on sp2
just make sure you still install the normal security updates, unless of cource you want to have a 13 year old nerd using your computer for DDoSs with 'phatbot'.

I integrated mine with SP1, reformatted and it installed. Works nice and smooth so far. ;)
