Stick to the Seagate or Maxtor brands. There easy to find and you can usually get good deals on them.

Just about any Maxtor i've tested worked fine; 13gig, 36gig, 80gig & 120gig
I've tried a 40GB IBM and a 20GB Quantum (Until I can get a bigger disk) and both have worked excellently :)

im assuming it can prolly take a 250 gig.. but theres no point in one bigger than 140 gig.. HDloader only can use 127 gig of space no matter the size of the hdd its self!

This may be changing! There is a patch being developed by Zero-X and a few others that allows the HDloader to do some interesting things. Here they are.
- No disc seek while loading (V9/V10/V11 fix).
- Copy_right message removed (helps with no disc seek).
- Stop disc spinning after loading (helps with MC exploit).
- Bigger game list (more titles on screen).
- Force NTSC on PAL machines (fullscreen image).
- LBA 48bit patch (allows full use of >128GB HDDs).
sweet now if we can get it to work with all the ps2 games
