View Full Version : For all of you who copy VCD's on DC
I have a original copy of The Matrix VCD. I want to make it a DC VCD but when I try to pull the info off of the disk to use it with gyplay it says it is write protected. Is there a way to get around this? Thanks

i tried to do this movie also, i extracted the mpegavi folder, but it was too big to put on a 80 min. cd. the funny thing is that i extracted the file from a 74 min cd. ez cd creator 4.0 will not let me burn it.
i did these fine for my dc
little nicky
charlie's angels
red planet
nurse betty
a couple of xxx titles
to extract i go to my computer, right click the mouse on the cd drive that the disc is in, click explore.
once the files on the cd show up, i right click on the mpegavi folder and send to gyplay folder, takes about 5-10 min.
next i burn the gyplay folder with ez cd creator 4.0 (mode 1 only, joilet file system) and after 10 min. i have a working dc-vcd.
the whole process shouls take no more than 15 - 20 minutes.

once you d/l gyplay
unzip it into it's own folder, then add the mpegavi folder like in my previous post and burn mode 1, joilet
I mean when I extract the dat file (that mpeg folder) right when I get to the end and it's almost done extractingit says error the disk is write protectec. How do i get around this?

it sounds like the person whom you may have gotten it from may have put some kind of copy protection on it.
other than that, i have no idea, sorry.
did you try cleaning the disc?
there are 2 things you can do
cause professional vcds sometimes have copy protection as well as dvds do
1- would be to try extracting the file using a decryption utility such as voddecc, or dod speedripper then burn with the gyp files
or(I HAVENT TRIED THIS ON VCDS)
2- takes much more time but will rip the vcd succesfully is to make an image of the vcd using cdrwin and the convert the image to mpeg format using vcdgear 2.0 then burn as usual
(i have done)
